  1. Bashing
Pirata and I managed to have both our RCs running for an extended period of time. Today was a hill climbing bash. Videos will be posted when we finish with them. Pirata shot my truck, and I shot his.

A couple of side notes. His new electric....SUCKS! Not fast, not powerful, too quiet. Everything you'd expect from an electric. It just reaffirmed my need to stay in the Nitro world. Guess his daughter has a new toy to drive the dollies around in.

My Fantom verus his HPI Nitrostar 21BB, looked like a pretty good race. My T-Maxx was able to keep up with his Savage. If I were geared for speed, I might have actually beaten him; but as it were, he beat me off the line and then it was him in the lead with me in a three to five foot chase.

Breakage...after taking a little bit of air and landing badly (on the lid from about 10 feet up), I discovered that my fuel tank was now a sieve (as in leaking like). Note to all, the fuel tank mod that I push will do nothing for you in cases like today.

Overall, we had a freaking blast. The vids will be here within a week,

P.S. My Savage is still a bit from running. Once the engine is broken in and all hop-ups installed, we'll see who leads who.

can't wait to see the vid.... Someone needs to design a better fuel tank mount... I think I'm gonna try something with a scrap peice of lexan, some short, tight springs and a few monting posts... I'll let ya know...lol

can't wait to see the vids there always so enjoyable and the aftermath pics are always great

wow...yet another sign of the apocolypse...Pirata had his rig running the same time as Sky. Can't wait to see the vids.

More reason to only put 2 screws in diangle from eachother like in my mod with the o-rings. This not only softens the up/down shock to the tank it also allows for side to side flex of the chasis.

If you have side to side flex on your chassis, you have bigger problems than a couple of screws and o-rings for your tank. A properly set up T-Maxx should have near zero chassis flex.

As for your mod, I like the thought and logic behind it. My only concern would be seeing the thing get ripped off.

Finally, the vertical force applied to my tank by the landing would have crushed your mod also. The landing was not survivable. As it was the damage to the tank was minor...just enough to let fuel out.

It is for reasons like that, that I carry a spare parts locker that includes a spare fuel tank. Stuff happens!

Zero chasis flex is impossible. Even on the highest priced sports cars with the stiffest chasis suffer from flex. The new Lotus probably has the stiffest chasis available due to it being carbon fiber and glued yes glued toghter.

That would be why I said "near zero". As for the story on chassis flex, I appreciate the information on the exotics. I am already aware of that. Next time, please read the entire post. Thanks.

your not my friend.........
and you edited that post or I was trippin because I am almost positive that it said "zero backlash" but anyway not trying to fight or flame so late!

One, your reply happened ten minutes after I made the post. If I had edited it, there would be an edit comment at the bottom beneath my signature.

Two, your own quote of my post holds the text as it was originally typed. In both, it states "near zero flex".

As for friendship, this is not about trying to lose your friendship or gain it. I'm just clarifying my point to make sure we understand each other.

As for fighting or flaming...no where near my intention. I just want to make sure we are seeing what the other has written before making any finger pointing calls. I appreciate your input and feedback.

Have a cold one on me...
