Unfortunately, trying to diagnose issues online is difficult more often than not... The clutch was DEF on its way to detonation if you explained things accurately. There was no time, effort or money wasted there. Aside from that, you have 2 new bells that let you mess around with your ratios! That is the very beginning of performance tuning and something you'll likely be perfecting over the lifetime of your rig. to peak out your rig. Different clutch materials, different spring tensions and even different clutches entirely are all part of the experience. It may not have fixed the issue but you dodged a bullet for sure!
Electric has its place as do nitro/gas. They both have their own unique challenges. Its good to hear you enjoy working with the nitro! They are a labor of love. Personally, I enjoy the work as much as the rewards! :D

I didn't realize the threads were related. Oh well... Hopefully the 'ping' is a tune and will be done!
 
In the original video it just sounded as though the idle was excessively high. But glad to know you've got it fixed now. :)
