Hello all. I have a tmaxx with the XTM big block and the 457 pro engine. It is very powerful, and will wear a lot of spur and pinion gears pretty quickly. And the fact that it is made for bashing doesn't help. With all that impact and shaking, I have gone through two pinion gears, one clutch system and two spurs. A decent spur replacement (plastic) is about 6 bucks. A decent clutch + pinion is about 50. So, the spur should always be plastic, and the pinion metal right? Because the spur is so cheap, you can afford to replace them a lot. My last spur melted due to the engine shifting position and having a bad gear mesh. So now I'm using my spare metal spur. I just hope my replacement comes before anything bad happens, because pinions cost so much. I have attached a picture of my collection of broken gears and stuff, and a pic of my metal spur.
