is wildcat really so bad??

I have not used Wildcat, but your remark about planning to change over in order to save money brought the adage about "You get what you pay for" to mind. Sometimes, cheap is just that, cheap. I'll let those who actually use the fuel defend it if they so choose.

I've never used it in a nitro car, but it's all I ever use in the airplanes. It's excellent in plane engines, but they are not required to put out the power that the cars need. I couldn't tell you for sure, but it's the fuel of choice at the flying field.

I've tried it a couple different times and it made my engines run hot. Except for my OS 15 cv-r(x).

I tried the 20% nitro/16% oil in my OS 21 RG and my Omega 21 Comp, on those engines, it made it run about 30 degrees hotter with poor performance. But I ran the same stuff a few years ago in my stadium truck with the 15 and it didn't seem to mind.

I haven't used Wildcat, but two of my friends have run w/ it and I have seen the same results that olds97 described; poor performance and hot temps. You would be much happier running another brand.

At my LHS, trinity MHP 20% was the same price as Wildcat Eliminator 20%/14% oil. I run trinity mostly. The last gallon I bought was byron 20% because my local LHS didn't have the trinity I wanted. All they had was the Monster brew which has more oil, but I don't think I need it.
