Hi,

I am new to Nitro R/C and I am looking for a suitable starter buggy. I will be using it around a farm, in fields and over jumps which I use for my motobike.

I have had a guy try to sell me a this setup:

A hyper 7 mac 28 engine with hightech servo for the brakes and a ace digital servo for the steering. Three sets of wheels and tyres road tyres on one set. It comes with a hyper 7 carry bag. It is used but in good condition. He is asking £200. Is this a good price?

Also, Would the above setup be suitable for a beginner?

Any answers appreciated!

It sounds like a decent buggy for your purposes. I'm not sure of a good price for it. The other things you will need for the buggy are a starter box, glow igniter and a good bottle of fuel. Good luck!

Hmm, good deal but a buggy is not all that great for rough terrain. You could of course put some truck tires on it and regear the buggy for the larger tire diameter.
For what you want to do I suggest a Monster Truck. hpi Savage, LST2, or a newer Revo 3.3

What about a truggy? I have been offered a Lightening Stadium for £80. Would this be suitable for me? Also is it a good price?

The buggy would be nice for loose gravel and dirt with not too many large objects to go over, flat level dirt roads and such.Truggy's are fun with more give to what you drive on but for a beginner running on a farm i would go with a monster truck probably a t-maxx 2.5 or 3.3 (think the 2.5 has reverse which is handy at times)and they are easy to start pretty easy to maintain and parts are usually easy to get.I'm guessing you dont live in the USA.The best thing to do is check local hobby shops to see what they carry and the parts they carry the most of so when it breaks, and it will break, you can get parts for it with out waiting 2-3 weeks at a time.Just my opinion

Truggies are a lot of fun, it would be a lot better choice than the buggy for bashing.

The T-max 2.5 or any traxxas you choose find one under $300 and you will be fine i suggest the t-maxx 2.5/3.3 beacause its good at bashing and its very durable can't beat the t-maxx!!:D
