I would probably use it as an everyday basher. Would race it when I can.
I would put a Hobbywing Quicrun G2 Combo in it.

It’s not a terrible price, if you’re able to locate parts for it considering you said you’d like to bash with it.. They’re fairly delicate as far as 1/8 race grade truggies go, and this one was released well over 10yrs ago.. The Losi/TLR crowd have been complaining about parts availability for a good while now on the CURRENT stuff from them.. 🥹
 
What if I gear it down?
You’d never be able to find a pinion, or spur that would gear it down to where it’d be useable unfortunately.. Mathematically. The spur would need to be the size of a Ferris wheel, and the O.D. of the teeth on the pinion would be the same O.D. of the pinion shank itself..
