So I bought an Eagle Tree data logger a number of years ago but never used it. Well I wanted to use it now on my 1/5 Scale Kraton 8S but I've run in to a bit of a snag. First snag is that Eagle Tree like so many other businesses during COVID has closed its doors. 😭 Second snag is that reading the manual it says the Eagle Tree V4 only records Amp draws up to 150A. Well I know from my Watt meter that the K8 can pull spikes as high as about 240A. Now Id probably just try the Eagle Tree anyway and see if it can handle it because I'm not trying to graph peak Amp draw but rather graph discharge voltages and average Amp draw but with the company being out of business I'm afraid of smoking it and not being able to replace it. Anyone know of any alternatives to Eagle Tree for a stand another Voltage/Amerpage data logger? Especially if its specifically for 8S?

Castle has them built in escs I believe.
I think its the larger 8th or 5th ones.

A quick search found
Monarch instrumentals at $130 and $50.

A little but more is microdaq. I never dabbed in this so I have no idea if this is correct. Microdaq I think said 300A.

I'm gonna check the traxxas forums for a thread. They had a few like these, one of which was done by someone in the battery industry. I forgot the company, possibly spc.

Thanks Chewy but I've already looked at most of that stuff and none of it is really for RCs and the ones that look like you might be able to fit them to an RC are under spec'd. Most of the ones in that search and the google searches I did only measure AC voltage and current.

I'm aware of the castle ESCs but I need a stand alone unit as what I want to test specifically involves the Firma 160A ESC.

I could probably put you in touch with a guy that could tell you how to build one of these, but you would have to get on Discord to chat with him.

That is interesting but aside from not really wanting to tackle another electronics build right now, especially with an arduino where Id have to learn how to code it as well. I'm also not sure that would be up to the task. While it did record his voltage and amperage his amp draw never went above 4.4A.

Thanks bro. If I ever decide to pursue that I'll hit you up.
