Hi guys I just wondered what your thoughts were on the RC18 compared to the Lossi MiniT...?
I've got a lossi MinT I've upgraded it a bit it has standard electrics A reedy Motor, 6Cell pack, Alloy oil filled shocks And its ballraced.. Mi bros got the RC18 which is standard but it still quick out of the box.
My Lossi behaves very well on the indoor track I've got a set of foam tyres too which means thiers a bit of give when it goes around corners instead of flipping over.. Now my problem is i want to take the lossi a step further ie upgrade the speed controller and get a brushless motor but is the lossi old technology compared to the RC18 which does look very well made and it handels well with the four wheels drive. I just dont want to make the mistake of throwing all my cash into the lossi if their going to fade away..
Whats everyone elses thoughts on this one..?
Should i stick with the lossi or get a RC18 to upgrade..
Cheers Andy

Prsonaly i would stick with the lossi. Its not oldtechnology at all its just the minit is 2 wheel drive and not 4. Its like and rc10gt compared to a t-maxx. Its what you prefore.

The RC18T is new and yes it is 4WD but will it last? Will everyone buy into the whole 4WD 1\18th models? only time will tell in the long run I think Losi will prevaile over all the rest, even without 4WD in it......

If you already own a Mini-t, I would first find out what you can get if you do sell. Also I would check to see if Losi is going to offer 4WD options soon. But if I were buying a 1/18 scale, I would go with the Associated RC18. Hands down 4WD is the way to go, there is no arguement on which is better between 2WD and 4WD. Plus your dealing with a reputable company.

Although, look at all of the new 1/18 trucks coming out. They're all 4wd! Not a single one is 2wd. Losi will be the only one...

Thanks for your replies guys.. I still carnt make up my mind.. I can get a bit of a disscount on the RC18 over here it costs £139.00 and i can get it for £110.00 so that is also somthing that is tempting me.
I guess i could probably ask between £80.00 to £100.00 for my lossi with all the upgrades that i have done to it.
I'm sure ill make a decision soon.. :smoke:
Thanks again..
Andy

keep the losi there way cooler, plus the losi offers a ton more optional parts

I agree with pierow, I think it's just what you prefer. I think if I were in the market for a 1/18th I'd want to go with the rc18t because it looks like a better value on paper, but I have a mini-t and I'm very happy with it. It might be the only popular 2wd 1/18th but I happend to think that it being 2wd is very fun. I like to get it drifting in the kitchin... pretty fun stuff. Of course you could always take the front drive shafts off the rc18t and get the same thing. I'm sure there's a big difference in handling aside from the 2wd vs. 4wd just because of the layout... there's a lot more weight in the back of a mini where the weight looks to be quite a bit more evenly placed in the rc18t.
I've been reading a whole lot about the rc18 and it's kinda compelling. But in the end I've decided to put more hop ups in the mini instead of buyin a rc18. just my preference.
