Is it possible to convert a bumpstart engine to p.s or roto start?

I recently got back into the nitro hobby. and got into a ofna jammin x1 ctr. it has a jammin jpx .28 in it. but it is a bump start engine right now. i absolutly hate the bump start with a passion, it is sooo hard to get the truck lined up with the starter wheel and then you have to have the truck angled just right to even attempt to start it or the wheel will just burn out on the flywheel...my question is this. is it possible to convert this engine to a pull start, or a rotostart? and what parts/pieces will be involved in this? any help will be helpful. thanks in advance guys

You can't change the JPX .28 to roto or pullstart. The crankshaft is not made for it.
Are you trying to break in the engine?
Don't give up on the starter box.
It is the best way to start an engine. Take your time and align the starter box pegs to hold the chassis perfectly lined up.
Loosen the GP and preheat the engine for the first few tanks before starting.
That engine in good condition is worth a lot. Sell it or trade it if it too much a pain for you.

well the motor just got broke in. and has a ton of pinch in it. sooo much that the battery in the bump box will go dead almost asap trying to spin it over. i actually had to result in taking a car battery and wiring it up that way and itll start fine every time. I'm just looking for a more practical way of starting this. cuz its a pain to go out rip a car battery out, get my wiring for it which happens to be ju,per cables as they wont get hot enough to melt like the other wire i have tried in the past, and get the truck just lined up absolutly perfect and bump it hoping it is actually lined up enough to hit the flywheel. i had to remove the cover off the bump box also as the wheel just isnt tall enough to go inside the shassis to turn the motor over. just looking for practicality. i love the engine when it fires, which it fires instantly after i have all the variables lined up. and the engine just wont quit

My bump start experience wasn't much better. Rc10GT on a ofna 1/8 box. The same get up the owner of the lhs has used for years. He told me the same thing" take your time adjusting the pegs". His wasn't on hand, or I would have had him demonstrate his technique. I finally got tired of messing with the pegs, so I just eye balled it. Worked very well once I got the hang of it, but kneeling down to see the rubber wheel line up with the fly wheel isn't practical, especially out in the field. And it seemed that there wasn't a proper place for me to put the pegs for my application. I didn't want to modify the cover, because I figured I was just over looking something. Now it's for sale, so I'm REAL glad I didn't hack it up!

oh i hacked my ofna bump box all up. the previous owner didnt have pegs either, so i have to eye ball it...just a pita...i love the ez start on my revo. pop it and she goes sooo easty, and practical. just hate bump boxes is all. i dont race my stuff yet to worry about weight savings or weight distibution. but id like to get into racing if i could find a track near me

You could go to your hobby store or ebay and get a big wheel starter for a plaine. This thing works greate. It has a nosecone rubber and abig rubber wheel , allyopu halve to do is put your flywheel aganist hte spinning wheel .
