When you are seriously considering emptying out the basement, putting in window fans, and dumping snow to make an indoor track? I got the itch real bad, we have snow, but the current temps are single digits and teens, with temps moving to the upper 20's. I want it to get warmer out so I can bash in the snow.

I've even been considering selling/trading off my Speed-NT for an electric short course!

dude I'm in iowa and the temp is the same here just go and run. i was out all last weekend had a blast. give er hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!:hehe:

Well do you have a good sump pump and 20 guys to help shovel the snow in before it melts?

Actually, I was going to make a chute going down the steps, and have the kids spread it as I toss it down. :)

So how much of the head should I wrap if the outside temp is in the 20s?

That's a tough call. I usually wrap most of the head, BUT, I use masking tape to do it. That way the wind can't get to it very well, but it still cools some. I would try a few different things and keep close track of temps.

I had decent results in these temps by wrapping the fins that are on the block. Nothing on the cooling head. 2 layers of tin foil. Most of my cooling fins on the head were covered by the body at that time. I think only 2 were sticking through. It was running between 190-280, blowing plenty of smoke. So it was a little shady.:) That was a 2.5 that was pretty worn out. Edit: It was YOUR 2.5!!;)

Wide pin-style tires, or stock savage tires? I think next year I might make some chains.

Use an old set and make a set of studs by putting screws through from the inside. When the summer thaw comes, you can use the basement as an indoor swimming pool.
