So the rest of the fun arrived. The good news is that the wires fit perfectly. The bad news is that the motor is rubbing on the chassis and preventing me from meshing the gears properly. I've ordered a 50T spur and a 22T pinion that will give me roughly the same gearing and space needed to fit the motor 😊

Order a parachute or 3 for the back too! WOW! 🤣😎

It's in and meshed. Pretty sure that's the largest motor you can fit in an infraction without being creative 😂 I got a paper thin space between the motor and the steering rack.

Took the opportunity to clean and upgrade the center diff with an aluminium diff housing and new oil now that i had to change the spur gear anyways.

And it still looks like this with the body on 😊

Got it out today. It's totally bonkers and overkill on 8S and I didn't even run it higher than 75% throttle D/R 😂 6S 100% on the Max6 is more punchy and crazy than stock and honestly better for bashing than giving it the full beans on 8S.

But WTH it was bonkers I wanted 😊

Ok. So I've gotten a bit more experience with the new setup and running it full beans on 8S now. Is it overkill? Yes. Is it a lot of fun? Hell yeah.

it's totally bonkers but easily controllable once you get the hang of it. And having so much power basically makes it do what ever you ask of it no matter the speed. Insane torque at the low end and endless power even when moving fast. You can ask it to enter a drift at very high speed and hold the drift until you run out of asphalt.

So all in all I'm happy that I did it. Stock is plenty fun and crazy but this is a notch up.

Now I just need a raise so I can afford the tires 😂

Small increments. Got som white choons that I have glued myself. Now that those GRPs would not last for 2 minutes. Looks good in white boots again 😎

Also raised the car just a bit. It was getting a bit low with the extra weight on. It's at 6 kg now vs. 5 stock. Better not gain anymore.

All installed. Easy job that did however require a center driveshaft bearing stabilizer delete since the Scorched center driveshaft is to beefy for it (and it doesn't need it either way).

And yes its dusty - it is getting used :D

Added a cooler for the motor which is getting way too hot. Hope it will help. Still need to fix a better solution for wiring but it's in 😊

And I got a small video of it as well:

Last upgrades on the internals. Think it's time to call this project a job done 😊 Added a Scorched RC Roto-Lok motor mount and changed the motor fans to silver ones to match the rest of the build. Also got the fan wiring sorted out 😊

Okay okay. Maybe not the last upgrades then 😂

Broke a differential outdrive and took the opportunity to upgrade the rear diff. I have a metal housing for the front as well. Let's see when I bother putting it in 😊

Finally managed to get a couple of speed runs with the 8S system on a set of CNHL LiHv 4S 8200 mAh batteries. Keep in mind that I'm running basically the lowest possible gear ratio at the moment (22T / 50T) and its a half cab with a giant wing on the back 😂 Was hoping for 150 km/h but did not mange to get there. This is maximum with the current gearing and bodywork 😊

Also managed to track a 0-100 km/h / 0-62 mph time. It's definitely possible to improve with better throttle control but I'm pretty happy with this:

So I bought a set of 4S 8000 mAh LiHv batteries. With those the ESC started to get a biiiiit to hot. So I've laser cut a custom fan mount for the ESC and added a couple of extra fans to keep it cool. Still need to test what effect it has yet. Also replaced the stock shocks with some aluminum GPM ones 😊
