I have about a month to do some research and buy a new tv...new house means bigger and better tv! I want 55-60" 600mhz would be nice and it must connect wireless to netflix, Pandora, and youtube....any other apps will be a plus!. At least 3 HDMI's but 4 would be nice ans I'm not sure between LED or plasma. I know led -3d is the new thing but the plasmas still have a killer picture.

Any of you guys/gals just score a sweet tv, let me hear about it!

Actually in a recent test I read, Panasonics Plasma 3D tv's were walking all over the LED 3D tv's.

It's funny that this is brought up, I was at a freinds house earlier and he has a 50" panasonic viera plasma that is a little older but the picture is just WOW.

Your gonna end up spending more on ur tv than on the rest of the house with that size in 3d. Check out sams club. Big TVs at decent prices there.

Right now 3d is just a gimmick. I would buy a TV without it, but still I'd recommend Panasonic plasma. Best bang for your buck.

What I mean is the way it is now, with glasses and you having to sit in a perfect angle to the TV, it is a gimmick.

Or maybe it's just that my brain is wired a bit weird. The only 3d movie so far that have given me any 3d effect is Avatar. All the other have been a total waste, and the glasses has only served as a means to de-fuzz the image. :hehe:

Man, you got a right to your opinion but your crazy to call 3Dand a gimmick. I think its amazing.

+1 to that.

Every 3D movie I have seen has been incredible.

Seeing one on IMAX simply blows me away!

For a TV though, I wouldn't bother. It is simply not the same as the theater.

I'm not a fan of 3d. The images look identical, just layered instead of one particular distance being in focus. And I dont like the dual images.
We spent alot of time making sure to get the right tv for our new house too. By the time we made our purchase, 3 of the sales people at a local best buy new us by name. We also got the calibration. Worth it in my opinion. Its set specifically for our house, and not the showroom floor where all the settings are maxed out.

For my bedroom, I spent 7 hours outside a Target on Black Friday in below freezing temps to buy a 32" tv for $250.
Can you wait until Nov.? lol

Newegg.com they have great reviews and you can compare them. I bought my lg led from them ne it was awesome.

Well, the 3D doesn't do much for me, but when I bought my TV it wasn't as readily available as it is now. I know 6+ people that have 3D tv's and they almost never use the 3D aspect of it...

The current shutter technologies are tough on headache prone people. My wife tried samsung's at best buy for about 5 minutes and we had to leave because it gave her a migraine... can't imaging what a whole movie would have done to her! lol

When I shopped for my TV (April 2010), I found that LG offered a really nice TV picture with a decent list of features and a price that was good for me. 55" 120hz LCD for $1600 out the door.

That said... I wandered by a 70" sharp aquos at best buy recently and it was hard to not stop and stare for an hour. Great picture, great size... price is livable once you see the picture.

3D is still not a top priority for me though. Seeing a big clear picture that doesn't have artifacts/blurring with realistic colors that makes my living room more cinema like is all I want.

I wondered around best buy today and they have a nice 60" Sharp AQUOS Quattron for $1700.00. I almost bought it but I haven't read up on any Sharp products, anyone own a Sharp tv?

I also looked a an LG in the same price range but it was a 55", my current LCD is an LG and it has been perfect so thats also hard to ignore.

All my old tv's were Sharps and my last tv I bought before my panasonic is also a Sharp, which my parents now have. Loved all of them.

It's funny that this thread came up. I decided it was time to upgrade my living room TV. I went up to a 42" from a 32" and LED backlight from a plain LCD. The difference is absolutely incredible. The blacks are almost as good as a plasma on the LED version.

I just bought a 50" Panasonic Viera Plasma from Best Buy for $650.00 three weeks ago. Would have like to have gotten a bigger one but not for the price. I dont have cable, i only use netflix and the tv has a plug built in for the LAN cable
