hi i recently accuired a kyosho alpha nitro r/c car it has a gx-12 engine that was running fine then it stalled and had a bit of trouble starting again but off it went running for about 10 mins or so now it is really hard to start and wen it does it cut out wen i remove glow starter :( i checked the glow plug and it appears to work ok so if anyone can help me get this back up and running and into this hobby i would be very greatful

Sometimes the plug will glow but just not enough right before it goes out completely. Try a new glow plug and see how she runs.

This means that your carb is set too rich. As long as the glow starter is hooked up the plug can burn the rich mixture but when you remove it the engine dies.

With the glow starter hooked up start turning in your low speed mixture a 1/4 or less turn at a time. Blip the throttle after each adjustment to clear the excess fuel out of the engine. As you lean the low speed the speed of the engine will increase and this will require that you turn the idle adjustment out in order to keep the engine running at a fast idle.

Now remove the glow starter and the engine should keep running. If it still dies then repeat this process. Once you get it to run without the glow starter you can put it on the ground and start tuning the high speed mixture (assuming the engine is already broken in).

Dying after you remove the warmer usually means the plug is either worn out, or your using a less than ideal "temperature" plug. try a new "hot" plug.

Try to check this video, this can help you a lot. [ame="http://youtu.be/9M4j_-HGRlQ"]http://youtu.be/9M4j_-HGRlQ[/ame]
