So I'm just wondering about the high level racing end of this hobby. If I understand it correctly the IFMAR Worlds are basically the be all end all of RC racing. Is this correct?

How is IFMAR pronounced? if-mar or eyef-mar?

What are the various racing classes I see in IFMAR? I mean I know that have:
Formula IC track
Sport IC Track
electric track stock
electric track modified
Electric Off Road Stock (2WD or 4WD)
IC Off Road
Team Championship IC Track Group C
Electric Track PRO 10
IC Track 235mm Touring Cars
IC Track 235mm Class I Group C
IC Track 235mm Class II Touring Cars
Electric Track ISTC
200mm Nitro Touring
200 mm IC On-road
IC Track

I've seen all these classes listed on various IFMAR charts and a few of them are self explanatory but alot of them I have no clue what they are and what separates one class from another. Can anyone explain or does anyone have links to sites that explain these classes? I'm getting tired of looking through Google searches and coming up empty handed.

What does the IC stand for in all of those IC classes?

Is there a list of manufacturers that have had their kits used to win IFMAR worlds like they have for drivers where it shows how many times a companies kit was used to win an IFMAR world? I can find lists for drivers and various other stats but not for manufacturers.

Just a bunch of stuff I was trying to figure out today while I was bored at work that i couldnt come up with answers to.

Everything you need to know about IFMAR, and "ifmar" is just the acronym for "International Federation of Model Auto Racing" as you will see on the website.

I've been over that website and I dont really see any answers to the questions I have. Its most just race rules and forms on the site.

Don't really know myself, all the specific details. I'm no where near the caliber they are so I never bothered lol. I watch them, that's about it. Since no one else answered it looks like Google is your only hope :/

Not sure on all the classes, there's to many anyway, but I.C off road is normally 1/8 buggy & truggy, there may be some other scale classes that get included in that also though.
The 235mm & 200mm are vehicle measurements for onroad classes, 235mm wide & 200mm wide.

Pronounced "IF-MAR", never heard of anyone pronouncing it any other way.
I.C stands for Internal Combustion, a nitro engine is an I.C engine.

If you look up IFMAR world championship results it should have written there who won & what chassis was used, normally should have engine & tires & maybe fuel brands. Thats with 1/8 offroad anyway but I would think other classes may be the same.
