Are you running a 6 volt receiver pack? If you are, you can wire the receiver pack right to the receiver. I don't see where that switch could hurt anything, but if you're worried about it just wire it direct without a switch, it wont hurt anything. If you're not using a receiver pack, that will plug right in to the receiver, just take the switch off and solder the wires direct. Make sure it's a really good connection, and you shouldn't have any problems. I didn't know you could do that either, but when I was new to RC I had a similar problem and that's what I did. Most of the guys that I crawl with buy brand new mamba ESC's and remove the switch wires and solder the tabs direct. There's no switch, and it's powered on when you plug in the battery.

That is a pretty good tip CharliesTheMan, I will have to keep that in mind! I have had that problem before and soldering the wires together never even crossed my mind.
