idle steady prob

when i sealed my engine i forgot to tighten this part initally (pic stolen, fuel inlet). I couldnt for the life of me figue out why i couldnt get my car to idle stopped. WOuld i be right in assuming that with this loose even though it was fueling the car it was also alowing a mixture of air and fuel in leaving my idleing adjustment attempts futile?:\

not 100% on what 10-4 means as I'm not a cb man myself but i guessing it mean, i am right?

!0-4 is an old radio code that means affirmative or understood. It is used by police and truck drivers on the CB radio.

Most definitely it would. Is that an STS? if so it will leak even tightened. They do not like to be adjusted from where the factory sets the housing. Degrease the HSN housing really good and silicone over it. Some Racer's Edge Air Seal works good too but is hard to find and is not as permanent.

that pic is from the guide on here, i did the work on my schumacher .18 engine. do i have to thread lock the thing in place now as it'll prob work loose all the time so..?? I'm upset at the thought of it always coming loose. i have sealed this part with silicone but I'm hoping that when i retightened it last night that it should stay in place permanently....?:violen:

I think what he meant by "not permanent" was the silicone getting eaten away by fuel. Honestly though, unless your saturating your engine externally with fuel, it should be fine.
