wy would you want to beef up your body ??...if its anything like my revo body ,i wouldnt try to make it stronger ...strong enough as is ....heck ..i kissed my neighbors F-150 bumper at at least 30mph....broke a front suspension arm and a body mount post in the front ...but the body only had a small scratch...i was really surprised nothing else broke ...because it did hit pretty hard ...i was impressed with it strength
In all seriousness though, I feel your pain. My new truck is eating my old bodies big time from looped wheelies. I've heard that fiberglass cloth reinforced with shoo goo is indeed the hot setup. Put it in all the corners and behind the front grille and you should be good to go.
How ab a roll cage??? i just got one ebay.... sweet... steel looks cool too like a real race truck. i put thin sheetsteel on it and ziptie toothe sides looks sweet ****$40
Roll cages work best when you have a body over them. The body helps them slide on the ground vs digging in and absorbing all the impact:
Where are you messing up your bodies? I've found that good bumper supports and a roll bar of some kind that the body rests on helps. The bumpers keep the body from crumpling on the ends and the roll bar helps keep it from folding in on a roof landing.
The mesh and goo will help, but trying to setup your rig so the body can't flex much before something stops it flexing helps a lot as well.
Body wraps....they work wonders. My Crowd Pleazer body on my Kyosho ST-RR has a wrap on it. It has survived 2 chassis. Starting the third with only one small crack.
ShooGoo works good too.
I use Shoe Goo and Drywall Tape (the kind that looks like wire mesh). Been working GREAT for me lately....and I tend to crash a lot. lol I generally put it all over the front of the body (underneath of course) to help save from the "lawndarts" as well as the body post areas, and down both sides.
I actually saved a body that was wrecked to hell with shoe goo and drywall tape. It's solid as all hell now.....it's also @ 2lbs heavier ;-)
