Okay - now I am about as anti electric as anyone here - but 147Kmh???? Thats almost 88mph!! Yummy!

Here is a photo of the inside with ALL 24 CELLS!!!! (drooling)

A lot of us hardcore nitro fans don't like to hear it but electric in many cases are superior in speed and handling.

You may be right, Ed, but how can you drive anything that sounds like my drill??? Or better yet, one of those Rascals that old people cart themselves around the grocery store in. I still believe batteries are for flashlights!!!

I started out with electrics and the power to weight ratio as well as the RPMs of the motor is much higher. Not only that but because of how small all of the electronics are they have a very low CG.

I only saw 21 cells....Did you see how they have the rear suspension setup.....one coil-over in the center of the chassis.

i may have been wrong - 21 cells not 24 i guess.

i dont care if it sounds like a 'hoverround' - that thing is cool as hell.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'm sure there must be 2 more VSCs one for each side. I looked and for the life of me can't seem to see them.

I have an AE L4 oval and its awesome.

personally in my opinion Nitros are harder on you for the up keep. That is why I like Nitro. Electric are, charge batter, throw them in, and gooo. Nitros you have to tune n everything, it is more difficult. They ARE MUCH MorE FUN!!!!!!!!!

Yeah Nitro deffinitly has a KEWL/fun factor that Electrics just done have.

That, and its alot easier (and cheaper) to lug a gallon of Nitro fuel around with you offroad than it is to keep a ton of charged batteries on hand.

I have heard of an associated tc3 that did 100mph w/16cells I don't know how much truth there is to it, but lots of people on www.radiocontrolzone.com in the tc3 forum say that its true.

Actually Cliff Lett built a TC3 that topped about 95 mph. He also built a RC10L3O (I think) that was clocked at 111mph!!! They both can be seen in the May 2001 issue of RC Car Action...

specter - i saw that thread at RCZ before too, but am calling BS. This was the world speed record at only 88mph. but oh well, maybe someone knows something about it that i dont. happens alot, lol.

:OMG: really candyman? wow, i was gonna call bs on that one. i gotta check that out.

there could be 24 batts look at the thingy (no clue wht it is) behind the reciever and wht is it sitting on looks like batteries to me....

This make the perfect suggestion for the next "Member Project" We can't let those damn electric guys ( being an ex electric only guy myself I know what I'm talking about ) we can't let them take our Nitro pride..... Lets get movin guys...there HAS to be a way to get a nitro to do more than 111Mph.

The right power-weight ratio and geering and we should be able to make a nitro fly!!!

Put a lawn mower engine on it or something!! Wheres Eddy, an Chirstian, and Maxx....one of them should be able to pull this off...right??

How about this engine inside a shumacker fusion 3 speed?
this is a 23cc fuel injected 2stroke nitro mill. think thats enough power?

The thingy behind the receiver is the Electronic Speed Control. Looks like an Aveox brushless system. The blue cylinder on the front of that is a capacitor used to smooth out the power. It's possible that the other batteries could be under it, but I can't see any evidence...

OK, now that I look closer, if you look to the left of the receiver, you'll see another yellow wire and just the top of a battery. I am assuming there is another row of batteries near the midline of the car which would up the count to 26 which is what the original article states...

One word, TURBINE. The FI mill has power but not the rpms. I would swear that I saw some article or blurb about the first turbine powered heli somewhere. If it were possable to machine a tranny for a turbine, and make a really good intake filter, it would have a shitload of torque and rpms. I have no idea what the shaft HP in a model turbine is, current articles and speck only state thrust, but I'm pretty sure that the R's are over 100K. That would be the schiznit. Turbine powered Savage.

Whitt....
