What do you guys think.. Recently I dug out a Kyosho inferno MP7.5 Which had been sitting under my bed for close to a year, I damaged the chassie and then moved to Australia and forgot about it.
Well on my return I fixed up the Inferno and got it running again the buggy was virtually mint cos i had only used it a few times before it went under the bed.. And I've decided that i wanted a buggy to go racing with,
Anyways I decided to update it and being as the model shop I'm working for doesant have a account with Kyosho I thought it would be best to go for a newer buggy that i could easily get parts for cos i get a disscount working at the shop.
My budget was low i only had £300.00 to spend and the shop i work at told me they would give me £160.00 for it as a Part Ex.
I agreed on getting a Hyper7 Sport And after reading alot about it on forums i started to change my mine.. Cos they seem to need to be heavily upgraded before you can race them properly. The suspention seemed laggy and the Buggy over all seemed very heavy.
So I've decided to get mi self another lightning2 to race, Now mi bro has one and i have one so we know them inside and out. I know the lightning2 will need to be upgraded a bit to race but i already know all thier week points through bashing them.
Thier wasant much point in racing my basher cos when we go out bashing they really get bashed we normally carry on until we have to carry it back to the van.. So i didant really like the idea of setting my buggy up for racing then go and drive it off a house and snap it in half, So what i figured is all the old parts i upgrade on the lightning2race i can use as spares for mi basher.. And when i go racing i can sling the basher into the van as well so i can use it to take bits off if i break any thing at racing..
Thiers only a few things i know that i need to upgrade on the lightning2 to race it.. Thats the front hubs cos they break easily and the thread holding on the front wishbones strip easily, The make a hub out of a harder alloy which would be a good hop up.
Ill put in the front and rear chassie braces And also put a anti roll bar on the front end, the back already has one.
And i plan on upgradeing the engine straight away the force26 that is in thier is very powerful low down but it doesant rev high enough in my opionion.
So I'm swapping that for a Force 21 8port. Do you guys think i made a good choice with racing the Lightning2..
Cheers Andy

stay away from the force 8 port if you can, my exsperience with them is not so good, and alot of others over here would agree, if you want a bottom end fast motor try the OS RG or SH or the collari, fast motors that are reliable......

The shock shafts are a little weak broke both my rear ones, so I changed front and rear to mbx5 ones, they fit straight in.

Ryan are the mbx5 ones more chunky or are they just alot stronger?
Cheers Andy

Actually the MBX5 ones are slightly shorter (about 2mm) but are the same width. You have to make the main hole on the shock piston slightly bigger but other than that they go straight on.
