I bought a used Traxxas Slash but it's like brand new without a scratch on it. I cannot get the carb to prime. I have brand new glow plugs and replace the fuel but it looks like the engine just won't prime. If I put a little gas in the carburetor through the air filter it will start but I just can't get any gas to go through the carburetor?

PS... I have reset the high and low needles to factory settings and the Gap looks good in the carburetor. I could send pictures of the gap. I have stumped all the resources in my area

Your fuel issue... are your fuel lines and the return from exhaust all free and clear? Have you blown thru them and the fuel tank?
Do you have a good seal on the fuel tank? No leaks if you blow into it.
Is your airfilter brand new?
If all this is good, your carb orings are prob junk.
I have seen sealing the carb base to fix this issue too.
Your exhaust could be plugged also.

I had the same problem and it was some bad fuel in the bottom of the tank it had jelled up and would let fuel go through

I'm not a nitro guy, but it does sound like you may have an air leak somewhere. It could be a number of places, so the best approach would be to start looking around. @Chubaka or @Littlemotor can offer better advice than me.

I have heard the OEM Traxxas carbs are junk though.

How exactly are you “priming” the carb? Just using whatever starting device (pullstart, roto/EZ-start, starter box, etc), and expecting to see fuel move from the tank to the carb?

If that is the case, then you are waiting for it to rain lol… Your tank requires PRESSURE to push fuel through the line.. When it’s already ran, and primed, it’ll fire off normally. If it’s been sitting, you will need to do one of three things to achieve this:

1) plug your exhaust stinger with your thumb, and spin the motor over until you can see fuel flow up the line to your carb.

2) pinch your pressure line, and open the lid by using your tank pull, and allow to “slam” shut. Do this 5-6 times, and also watch the fuel flow up to the carb.

3) remove your pressure line from your exhaust nipple, and blow into the line until-again; you see the fuel flow up the line into the carb.

Hook up your igniter, and fire off as usual. Have fun. 🍻🤘

Thank you so much for the reply, yes the fuel tank blows through, no leaks and if I remove both the fuel lines there is pressure coming from the exhaust but nothing goes through the carburetor so I am now removing car buretor I'm just not sure what I'm looking for like I said if I pour a little down the air intake it starts right up. If I remove the high screw, a little bit will bubble through there but nothing goes through the carburetor. There are plenty of videos on how to rebuild the carburetor but this car is brand new so I'm not sure what to do with it

I want to put aside all of your concerns. The gas tank and fuel lines are fully pressurized and everything works great but no fuel goes between the tank and engine

Buy an OS 11k carb and celebrate how much better your rc runs with it!
You can rebuild the old one too but the OS is supposed to be a huge upgrade.
@Chubaka can verify this. 😎
I'd hate to recommend that someone buy something that isn't going to fix the issue but I think you'll be ok here.
