Ok guys i will make this easy for you and me, in northern wisconsin i help run a nitro race track and we race the normal classes and the ?ion i have is Do you consider a hellfire a truggy or modified truck. THE reason i ask is a couple of guys at the track have stated they think the hellfire is a mdo truck but with a center diff and flat chassis it stands in the truggy/super truck/arena truck class in my mind but keep in mind these guys are all friends and have never came close to winning a truggy race (racing against jammin,lsp,str,lspr and revo 3.3 with a center diff) this is what they race against all the time and now i think they are crying so the can get into another class we they think the have a better chance. So i told them if this is ok for everyone else that races a mod truck then i will let them but now i think they should stay in the truggy class but i would like to hear what all of you guys think be4 i do anything about it. Also another ?ion is the revo 3.3 stock or modified in all of your eyes not keep in mind if it has a center diff its modified so more or less box stock with tires and pipes. What do you guys feel on both subjects please let me know. Once again thanks alot guys for your help and please no bashing on me if this sounds stupid to you guys.

Well, If I'm not mistaken, the Hellfire is a buggy-style truck (flat chassis with upper braces), with a center diff (instead of a gear reduction box, like a savage, tmaxx, or a stock revo). It has a layout alot like a buggy does, right down to the shocks. It's even marketed as a bash-oriented truggy.

I'd say keep 'em in the truggy class, or perhaps move them into a sportsman "anything goes" class. If they don't like it, then they need to practice their driving.

Hellfire = Truggy
Revo 3.3 = Production Monster Truck
The big player is the center dif, however with the Revo even though it may or may not have the center dif, it still has a gear reduction transmission. They obviously want some sort of advantage cause every Hellfire I've seen on the track gets owned by all the other truggies! Check ROAR or RC Proseries and base you decision on their rules, it's pretty cut and dry there.

+1 on that.

I have a Revo 3.3 and still get beat my some Maxx's, I think those guys have the same problem I have...They can't drive lol

Hellfire is a Truggy per ROAR and is considered a Truggy at our track. I'm sure your buddies are sick of being lapped at a $2.00 whore, but "thems the breaks!"

The Revo is a production MT and even the 3.3's with the center diff. are allowed to race in the production MT class here. The reasoning is, even though it does have the center diff, it still has a gear reduction system. Honestly, one of the guys racing a 2.5 smoked two 3.3's with center diffs last weekend.

I'm with the others, tell 'em they need to get better (just like me!)

Agreed; it's usually the ones that treat the throttle like an on/off switch (with no in-betweens) that complain the loudest.

well guys i am going with you guys and telling them if they dont like it dont race it. Also after i raced today i had a meeting with another track and dicussed this to the end and now i will run the revo 3.3 in the monster stock class as long as it dont have the center diff and if it does then it will run in the mod monster class. Also i raced my revo 3.3 for the first time today and had the race all rapped up till i hit a board and shatterd the front lower a-arm and then i was finished i was up by 3 laps on the fastest guy at the track and i had to go break it right away and not finish the race. DARNIT once again guys thanx alot for the help

Well, the center diff in the Revo doesn't matter, it should be in moster truck with or without. Even with the center diff it's still a gear reduction transmission. If the driver's were equal across the board, a Revo will get beat by any truggy out there, that is why ROAR and RC Proseries define it as such.
