Walmart has a bunch of girlscout clone cookies too. :thumbs-up:
They also have an excellent tasting clone of Nutty Buddy for half the price of the original.

Luckily, we're not Dorito fans at my house. We typically buy Cape Cod kettle chips and you get a large party sized bag for $5. We also always have tortilla chips on hand, and get a local store brand which is good and a lot cheaper than the name brand.

Thank goodness you can buy Doritos with your Snap EBT. The way prices are going we will all need a subsidy to get our nacho cheesy fix.

Yeah, I like paying my taxes to get people free junk 'food'.

Nutritional Assistance ? 18% of the U.S. snap goes to buy "artificially sweetened drinks"

Putting Healthy Food within Reach for Those in Need. SNAP provides food benefits to low-income families to supplement their grocery budget so they can afford the nutritious food essential to health and well-being.

I did not know that Doritos are "nutritious food"

Doritos, and all similar things, make VERY GOOD FIRE STARTERS. Most people are amazed how big a flame, and how long it will burn, when you light a single dorito chip. EX-girlfriend, while munching doritos : "you should not eat even a single strip of bacon, it is almost all fat."

There are far more important things to worry about when it comes to where your tax money is going. If you make $50,000/year only about $36 of that goes towards food assistance. If you think about how many people that measly $36 is helping that actually need it... you'll feel a lot better about it.

Not everybody is abusing the system.

Not everybody is abusing the system.
It's very hard to be optimistic about it when I work everyday and have a wife that doesn't work and a 5 year old daughter and they won't help me with a dollar!!!!! But my neighbor is 400 pounds lays on her ass all day and gets her rent food and her electric bill paid by the government!!! That's not the way it was supposed to be! The people that actually started this stuff and meant it for the right reasons would be rolling in their grave if they could see this!!!

Yeah, there are the occasional people who abuse the system. Do you actually know your neighbor's story?

If you saw me you'd likely think the exact same thing. Just some fat guy, abusing the system. But I worked from the time I could swing an axe (about 9 years old). I worked in my dad's woodshop from 9 til about 16. I detassled corn for 3 of my summer vacations when I was in high school (15, 16, and 17 years old). Ever walked a mile long field with areas of knee deep mud in the middle of summer pulling EVERY single corn tassle out? Repeat that for 8 hours. At the end of that particular day, half the school bus load of kids had quit and were waiting under the shade tree for us to finish their work. It was funny. They were nearly all rich snotty kids.

I worked like that for most of my life. Hard, strenuous labor. As my disability progressed, my weight went up. I wasn't fast enough with learning healthier eating habits to counteract my lack of mobility limiting my daily exercise that I was no longer getting. Going to work and killing myself every day lifting 200lb vises into my machine kept me fit, but also broke my body.

Just saying... don't judge unless you know the actual story. I paid way more than my fair share into disability, food assistance, lining politician's pockets etc, and I'm glad these assistance programs are there now that I need it. I'd be homeless and very likely dead otherwise.

Some of us need it but as mentioned by @WickedFog , I put more than my fair share into SS also.
Besides I can't afford junk food nor do I have a desire to eat it.
Ok a occasional Cadburry egg is always in order but I promise you, I paid for that with change I found in the couch. :D

I only buy snacks for Breydon these days. I can't get up and feed that little trash compactor every 2 hours lol. That allows me to occasionally sneak a snack for myself. Out of 12 bakery fresh chocolate chunk cookies, I got 2 😁

Fortunately, he is learning how to cook. He made his own pork dumplings in the air fryer the other day. He's made homemade eggrolls and pizza dough now. Next I just need to learn him to make chili and that should get him set for manhood 🤣

So I’m on vacation this week with a family of 4. $300 a day just to eat 3meals a day. They are charging up to $5 just to use debit card plus tax and tip. This is before your asked cash or card in most cases. So I’m forced to the fairly decent hotel breakfast. I've had worse!

I leave for vacation tomorrow and that's where 90% of your money is spent on vacation besides lodging! It's terrible!!! I'm going grocery shopping as soon as we get to our house to try and avoid that

WOW! I remember bacon for like 2 and 3 a pnd!! Lol

I said i say that and still get talked into getting them half the time lol. But I'm about ready to just go off grid LOL
Yep and start going after these wild bores. Seams to be the ticket to bacon. Lol

I know that wild pigs can cause a lot of damage to their environment, but I kinda wished we had them around me. Would love to have free pork protein!

We don’t have them that I see in pa yet. But they are headed this way. Just thought anyone that did may be able to collect on this bounty. Bacon is life to me. I have a relative that raises pigs so I just buy a small pig $25 and have him raise it, I pay for food and maintenance about $30-40 a month, then have them butchered. Then I have all the bacon and chops I will need for the year, and plus a big ham and roasts as well.
Paying about half the price I pay a year in pork.
I am about to do the same with a cow. If I see good savings in it.
