Just wrecked the T. Not bad but still, i work hard to keep that truck looking nice and then some idiot pulls out and hits me!!

We were headed south on 45 feeder in the left lane, some lady pulls out of the mall and goes all the way over to my lane. I did everything i could to keep from hitting her, i was on the brake so hard my butt wasn't in the seat anymore. my pass bumper and wheel/tire hit her drivers side rear door and i went up on the curb on the left trying to avoid her.. we pull into the next parking lot, and she jumps out claiming it was my fault, and that i had my turn signal on.. so she thinks i am going to be making a right turn, on one of the busiest roads around here, from the left lane!!

the cops were very cool about it, and i talked them into giving her a citation instead of just blue forms because i didnt want to have to pay my deductible because of her ignorance. they tried to write me a ticket for abusive language because when i got out of the truck i said "what the F$%^ was that!!". we told the cop, yea, i said it, but colorful language was spoken by both parties and they dropped it. the cop even told me, he doesn't know why people act like that, guess they are just thin skinned.

webster PD wrote them a citation for failure to yield right of way, and sent us on our way.

the crappy part is i didnt have my latest insurance card with me, and got a citation for that, but all i have to do is fax them a copy of the new one and thats done.

looks like i will need the bumper end repainted, 2 new tires, (dont want to take chances) and maybe a new wheel. hopefully they will paint my hood as well.

ouch!! that sucks!

still nothing on that car you hard parked at your house. haha

Not sure what "the T" is, but I feel for you.

My wife put the first battle scars on my old faithful 1998 grand marquis. Pretty car... my favorite car to date... 175K on it... idiot lost control coming at her last winter in a blizzard, she swerved to avoid and spun out, hopped a curb and smeared a street sign. The guy she avoided then plowed into another car 3 blocks away behind her. After a good samaritan helped get her car off the curb and sign, he called in her plate because of the sign... no mention of the idiot that ran her off the road. We got stuck with a $75 bill for a sign and my car got a nasty scar and a bent rim!

Yes... my wife was ok. She was so upset about the car that she just broke down into tears when she called me about it... she knew I loved that stupid car... Then a month later, it gets backed into in a parking lot and dings the trunk lid and busts a tail light. Then, two months after that, someone smears the right side (the other side that didn't hit the sign) when it was in a parking lot and my wife wasn't even aware of it.

Feels now like in "The days of thunder" when Robert Duvall kicks in the only un-dented panel in the stock car and says "I don't want the mechanic getting lazy!"...

Sorry... that all just poured out... regardless, I truly do feel for you.

i won't lie, i go from the merge lane to the far left lane as soon as i merge. The difference is that i am standing on the skinny pedal and if someone IS in the left lane, they never have to take it off of cruise.

what was the age, height, weight and race of the woman? (so i can profile)

Does it matter? 95% likelihood that it was a green SUV of some sort and she was on a cell phone. 75% likelihood that she is white, no bra and weighs in at 427lbs with a lit cigarette in her mouth and breath like a dragon with hints of bourbon...

...

Wow... childhood memories abound... I'm sad now.

the "T" is my titan.

she was older, a bit over weight, and driving a 4 door ford contour. her daughter was well on her way to being just like mom to.

they went all crazy on us, i calmed down quickly and was trying to talk to her but she just kept blaming me, and saying my turn signal was on. I'm like ma'am, i was in the LEFT lane, you can't make a RIGHT turn from the LEFT lane!!

i know what happend, there was a line of cars turning into the mall, and she couldnt see over them, or didnt really look. if she would ahve stayed in the right lane we all would be fine, but she came all the way out to the left lane.

i was standing on that brake pedal, my a$$ was off the seat and i was on it with both feet.

the titan held up well though, and i barely felt the hit. This is one of the reasons i bought a titan, they are tough trucks.

a tow truck driver showed up and was telling us, just last week he picked up a titan that had went down a ditch, up the other side and rolled 4 times. it would still start and run, and the driver walked away.

Sorry the B had to bash the T, Blake. Hope her insurance doesn't jerk you around on the repairs. Kudos on getting the cops to give her a citation--if they hadn't it would have been a "he said she said" and it would have ended up a "no fault" accident and you would have ended up (or your insurance would have) paying for the damages.

yep, thats why i pushed it. i dont want to have to pay my deductible because she is an idiot.

what you talking about man! they didnt have cell phones when you were young!

We have those kind of people here, too. They're driving down the expressway talking on their cellphones, eating some fast food, drinking some coffee, smoking a cigarette and putting on her makeup whille driveing 15 mph slower in the far left lane. She then realizes that she's about to miss her exit and swerves across 4 lanes of traffic then puts on her turn signal (if she does it at all) and then flips you the bird when you have the nerve to hit your horn and your tires are smoking from trying to stop so hard.

It happens at least once a week when I go into town for groceries.

At least you didn't get hurt. The truck can always be replaced.

Sorry to your truck bent up B, good luck with the insurance and repairs!

I really don't like my truck so if someone does that in front of me were going to need a tow truck!!!

I just go an call from my wife that one of her friends that was visiting backed out and cut the wheels too sharp, too soon and dragged a fender down the side of my Skyline. Oh course...since she is a friend my wife has done nothing about it. She says it is "not too bad" but WTF really? So now I have a strip of red paint....and I am going to have to fix it when I get back. There goes my re-sale value....

I think it's illegal to drive in the US... something about power to weight ratio or lack of safety features...

Think "go cart with rocket strapped on, warner brothers style".

They've never been submitted for crash testing, over here. It's possible to get them licensed over here, but it's crazy expensive, and I'm not sure it's entirely on the up and up.

No way power to weight ratio has anything to do with it. If it did, the Ariel Atom wouldn't be legal.

^ right-o. The DOT doesn't have any crash test data on them so they don't want them here.
