I bit the big one and got a good charger and power supply today.

I picked up an almost new Competition Electronics Turbo 35 GFX for a reasonable price from someone local. Hes delivering it to my shop tomorrow.

I have been researching Power Supplies and found one on e-bay as well. The guy seems to have a lot of them in stock for a good price.

If I wasn't serious about racing electrics I have no choice now.
I may not be able to drive worth a damn but I got all the cool stuff
My next equipment purchase will be a Com Lathe.

It never ends :p:

Good luck Eddy! Welcome to the electric world. sl0eg1n uses the HUDY comlathe. I forgot what other part he ordered with it to make alignment easier. I'm sure he'll chime in sooner or later.

He was taught how to do it by one of our friends at the LHS as well as tune the motor. Hopefully you'll have someone to do the same for you. I just give it to sl0eg1n because I'm not as hardcore as he is. Besides, it's convenient ... he's in the next room! hahaha. Don't forget to get the tire truer. HUDY has a nice one as well. We got the manual one because the automatic one just didn't fit the budget and it's not really necessary.

Buy the best once and you'll never have to do it again until it breaks.

Guess your still thinking of nitro even though you bought this stuff????? (check the forum)...........LMAO

Geeez those chargers are pricey. Which electric car do you have?

Excellent choice of charger! I don't have one, but I have an LRP Competition charger, an Integy 30-amp discharger, and a Western Radio Battery analyzer that do the same thing! :hehe:

ha ha eddy put it in the general nitro forum... lol well at least we know your nitro at heart.. with nitro on the brain..

I'm running a FT TC3 for now. I thought it would be a good car to enter into electric racing with.

I have always believed in buy good buy once for equipment that is used a lot. Not only RC but but for most things I get. There is nothing worse then relying on things and having them let you down.

There are several people around that can teach me the proper way to use my equipment. Now all I need to do is remember what they teach me and to make practical use of it. You can lead a horse to watter but you can make him drink when he would rather be skinny dipping.

I'm going to try and hit my first race this Sunday. There is something going on close by every weekend. Next weekend there is a race in the parking lot of my new store so I guess I'm off to the races now.

Notro is my first love and wont be forgotten.

Same here. I will always love my nitro cars. Something about the zinging sound of an italian .12 flying by just makes me smile! Electrics are nice as well. They get me through the harsh NYC winters.

BTW Eddy, running electrics is a bit more technical in the setup with gearing and all that BUT it teaches you to be a more precise driver. Especially when there are no brakes. I found that out after racing my 1/12 this winter then switching back to nitro for the season. I surprised myself!

Indoor racing has smaller lanes so you have to be more precise. When you go back to Nitro's for racing (if you race) the lanes are huge when you compare it to indoor electric

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW! that's a nasty mental pic!
hey I was speaking inrefference to the toast remark....WTF were YOU thinkin?!!?!?!?!?!

I'll say it's twisted...I couldn't even imagine Imagining Eddy and a Fat lady slathering Butter all over him.....sick puppy to even think about how she'd have to melt it and pourit all over rubbing it in w/ her han........Um like I said you must be sick to even think of all that stuff

the hudy comm lathe that i use is part #101401. i added the optional axial #101901. don't forget to purchase the diamond cutting bit #101081. this cost me about $400.

i suggest that you get the professionally tuned motors, 27T or 19T, from a professional tuner. all you have to do is true the comm and replace the brushes. this coming outdoor season i will be running surge tuned 19T motors. some of the tuners that come to the top of my head are the following:
team Br00d - www.teambr00d.com
surge worldwide - www.surgeworldwide.com
putnam propulsion - www.putnampropulsion.com
high velocity - www.teamhighvelocity.com

what battery matcher are you going to use? also what type of batteries are you going to be running, GP 3300, GP3700, IB3600, IB3800?

if you have some inquiries about electric racing equipment shoot me a PM. Diver will be on vacation for 1 month. i know more about his race cars than he since i built them. i also have a spreadsheet that calculates rollouts, ratios, etc. let me know if you would like.
