hey guys.. me again. i just scored my first mini, super stoked for em after reading a few peoples builds and posts about em.
i picked up a

1/24 SCX24 2019 JEEP WRANGLER JLU CRC 4WD ROCK CRAWLER BRUSHED RTR, WHITE

its a discontinued model. can someone tell me why? I'm hoping was just a licensing issue or something and not that this model was a janky junker
it has

INJORA 43mm Aluminum Threaded Double Barrel Shocks With Fake Reservoir For Axial SCX24

but their upside down? i watched a few videos and i believe it was to add droop/
it does the Carolina creep, where the back sits lower than the front. i kinda dig it. while waiting at a gas station i sent it on a little test run and was able to easily mount a yellow curb crawled right over it back and forth no problems.
I'm digging this little guy.

i already have the first few upgrades in mind for it
id like to widen its stance, add some weight to the front and try to lower its cg, if it would strop flipping over it could make much steeper climbs than its currently able to.

Nice! Move the front shocks back another screw. That will bring your front end down and help with CG. If the steering servo hits the frame rails, snip the tabs off above the mounting screw. At an angle. It'll act as a ramp. You can kinda see it in this shot.

i dont think i have a screw long enough to go thru the battery tray thats already in that hole. where would i look for back up screws?

or would the current shock screw work ust fine? it almost looks like they would just bite into the battery tray just fine?

The screw that's in your shock should work just fine.
just found that out, thanks brother that was such a huge difference!!

I'm trying to figure out if I need to add oil to the shocks? I have 30wt shock oil but I this shock isn't meant to have oil what do I do?

these shocks keep coming unscrewed while driving. the front drive shaft slipped and bound itself up. is missing the front bumper... i might have gotten a little hoodwinked on this deal.. o well. otherwise, it performs really well, it climbs stuff nicely. poop turning radius. the body is held on by a magnet, realized that magnet attaches to nothing. the servo maybe if i push it down enough lol. so i have a rubber band around the chassis bars. weirdest thing.. even tho it has all these issues and more i haven't found yet undoubtedly. i still love it! wish i had acess to more parts but I'm sure everyone without a full garage thinks the same thing lol.

So there is no magnet on the body? If not, I am going to guess that's it in top of that body mount. That looks like it may have been glued to the body, and the glue ran down to the mount. I wonder if there is another magnet in a pocket in that plastic mount.

been awhile since I've had the 24 out and about.
so i was in fact missing a front bumper, ordered and installed a new one,
there was a small plate across the shock towers that the magnet in the hood had been connecting to, i tried to putt the body posts out but they literally shattered when i tried. i WAS able to force one out.
then after looking at the hole i decided that i had a piece of metal that i thought would fit. it did!
i bent it over at a 90 and slapped that bad boy on. now I've got a hood that stays shut. i left it over at the course so can't upload any pics of it till tomorrow, buuuuut i did make a few videos of my buddy running his 24 on the janky incomplete course I've got goin on

and he decided to just put it thru hell like ten foot drops multiple times lol it was crazy

so i dont know if anyone remembers but my motor allegedly went bad on my scx24, os i got a new one... same exact issue. fml.
have steering but no throttle or reverse. cannot find a video on calibrating the scx24 controller, i did the turn on while holding bind button thing but still nothing. just steering.
I'm fully charging the battery as reddit has that as the most easy and commonplace fix.
i wanna run it on the course damnit

taking the ecto out to calm my nerves

Good looking course. I highly recommend a Furitek system. You won't have the jumpy throttle anymore.

I wish I could afford a furytek is just a smidgen outta my.rqnge ATM
But definitely getting one in the soon
Until then I am.frustrated with this thing...
Should the car roll when off
Like when I push it with my hand
Or should it stay locked in place
I think something is bound up because I can't get driveshafts to turn manually
So in my infinite wisdom I ordered a new set of driveshafts and a new ae6 esc
So it will have
New motor
New driveshafts
New esc
This darn thing better crawl after I replace all that
I don't see how it won't is darn near a whole new car at that point only thing left that cane with it will be chasis shocks and wheels

It should not roll when sitting. The axles have a worm gear. You cannot tun the wheels manually. Take your diff covers off and check the gears.

i did, saw the worm gear, threw some greasein havent taken front apart yet.
good to know that its not bound up then. still super confused. i made sure the driveshafts were in phase. that was a little PITA but i got em lined up. still nothing. so maybe my esc is just brnt out, I'm about to take it aoart to see if it has the bubble i see a lot of people having issues with, brb
hmm is this orange normal? or is it something i should take note of?
