First off I want to thank SkyMaxx for a great day, and awesome tour of the Roosevelt. It was great finally meeting you Mike! and the tour of the ship was awesome! Thank you so much from my entire family. My son has still not stopped talking about it.

Ok, so I got an invite from our very own SkyMaxx to go to Ft. Laud for an officers tour of his ship the carrier the Uss Roosevelt. So myself, my wife and my son took him up on his offer, and went to Ft. Laud. for the day.

After the tour we went to the Southport Raw Bar for some killer grub, then took a cruise down the beach to check out the bikinis. All was good until someone tied a pice of string around a tub of cottage cheese, or maybe it was a nasty ass in a thong. Either way my eyes still hurt!

Heres a few pics from the ship.

Thanks again Mike for a very enjoyable day buddy!

Dude you are one lucky sob, that's cool of skymaxx to show you around, and it's even cooler that for those of us who don't get to see the actuall ship that at least we get picture from a awesome guy,Thanks and you didn't happen to get a picture of the cottage cheese did you?

DAmn Joe, that looks like a hella fun day. It was cool of Sky to invite you out. It's gotta be cool to be that close to all that kick ass machinery!

That looks like it had to be an awsome day! Is that Sky's ship?

cool pics. i always loved hornets, we just made some parts for them 2 months ago too.

Sky do you fly AWAX (not sure if thats how you spell it) The USCBP has a few of those up and about. If you want another job when you retire you could fly the same planes.

That is so cool. But I have one question ... where's the pics of the bikini's?

Hey Sky if you ever dock in NYC let us know! I wanna go ..... LOL Great Pics thanks for sharing NC.

sLY

Joe, you and your family are most welcome. It was great to finally meet you.

If I get to another port before I depart for six months and there are RCNT folks in the vicinity, I will do what I can. I am limited to five bodies at a time, and I knew for a fact the NCNitro was close enought to make it happen.

For those that asked:
1. Yes, that is the ship I am currently embarked aboard. Unfortunately, it is not "my" ship; as in I do not own it. :D
2. The aircraft I fly in is similar to the Air Force E-3A AWACS. It does the same job, but better and in a smaller aircraft. My aircraft is the E-2C Hawkeye.

As for the pictures, I'd comment on them, but my damn shipbased connectivity takes about a half an hour for the page to load...pictures are just about non-existant for me (all red x). At any rate, if you have questions, I'll do what I can to answer. Just realize it will take a bit of time for me to respond...

For those of us not in the know, I'm guessing thats NCNitro in the shorts and Sky in the brown jumpsuit?

Nics pics! Those are some awe inspiring machines to say the least.

Olds, spot on. You have passed the test.

Awesome pics. I'm surprised they let ya take them. When I went to McDill AFB they was strict of the picture taking of the planes. But either way, it was cool of Sky to invite ya Joe.

BTW NC, are u still coming to Staten Island this summer?

There were some other areas of my private officers tour, lol, that I was not allowed to photograph. The tour was awesome, and Mike really showed us some very interesting areas of the ship, it was great! I'm glad you guys liked the pics, I felt honored to get such aa awesome tour of our Militarys finest, by one of our militarys finest.

As far as Saten Island, yes I am still planning on getting up that way, but the time will be split between Staten Island and Long Island, and possibly Jersey. One of my brothers in law recently bought a house somewhere in Jersey, I'm not sure where exactly. I'm am not quite sure just when I will be up that way though.

LMK. Maybe we all can get together. ( Ratzo, Diver, Imbroken, Msly, Robriguez, & myself)

No way, he is pulling your leg! denim shorts are the new uniform of the Navy.

Sweet! I can't swim, but I'll learn for that kind of a dress code!

That plane with the dish on top has got to feel like flying with an elephant on your back... the props have a lot of blades!

I felt bad for SkyMaxx, it was in the 90s with a heat index of about 100, and he was wearing that jumpsuit. I was sweating like a pig wearing shorts, I can only imagine how hot he was.
