Finally, out from underneath a car note. It's a 1991 mustang lx coupe 2.3L IL4 Power everything, 123K, tilt wheel, Tach, A/C, Good tires, and a pretty good looking interior (that is after it gets cleaned up). Great gas mileage, and no bad mechanical problems.

It needs a starter, new battery, and some body work, and a thorough dousching. This car sat for four years before I got a hold of it. I need to drain the tank, and fill with fresh gas, do a complete tune-up, and install a much needed stereo.

I can get rid of this damn car note now. I bought it straight out for $800.

You're probably wondering..... whatever, he got a car. So what?

For the past three years I've been building my cousins credit on this truck (that I have now). Basically a ford ranger single cab, with almost no space, standard tranny, crank windows, manual everything, stripped and not equipt. I have NO credit, nor the provable income (banks require 2 years tax papers), nor a co-signer to get the finance done.

So, I look at this as a great thing for me at least. Something I can legally call my own, and not have a car note hanging over my head.... especially during Christmas time.

Thats cool. Congrats man. One of my dream cars was always a Ealry 90's (Like a 93) Mustang GT 5.0L convertable. I was looking pretty hard for one a couple years ago, but only found ones that were beat to poop. It sucks having no credit. Its almost worse than having bad credit I think. Post up some pics of itWed like to take a peek.

I would right now, but it's too dark outside. Plus it's too nasty looking right now. It looks like hell. There's even cat crap in the passenger side floorboard.

Cat crap on the floorboard...hmmmm, I am sure it smells great!

Congrats on the car Mike, now we can hook that little 1 ton POS to the back of the smartech for one helluva grand finale.

A "Car note" is when you are paying on a car, either lease or buy. Usually paying on a car can lsat several years, and the damn thing is useles by the time you get done paying.

Congrats, man. Now you got wheels, free and clear, and another hobby, too.

Another hobby is right. I think  I'm putting R/C on hold for a while. At least until I get this thing fixed up.

Congrats and good luck with it. Hope it lasts for years!

I'm not much on a car note either. I did some stupid poop when I was young. Don't figure I could afford full coverage insurance.
Last 2 I bought at an auction. A Dodge Dakota, 3 years ago. A Ford Bronco, 2 years ago. Both have served me well. (knock on wood) Had a chance to sell the Bronco and make a 2 grand profit, but we decided to keep it.

Get a credit card if you want to get some credit establised. Even if you have to get one of the "secured" ones. Just pay it off in 2 or 3 months. Watch yourself, they can get you in trouble quick.

Whatup that you were paying on on the Ranger and it was going on your cousin's credit? If ya don't mind me asking....

Well, my cousin got it with "intentions" of keeping it through college while he worked at a local grocerie store. He got mad about two weeks later and quit the job, joined the military, and left it to my uncle (who cosigned) to take up the payments. These people don't have much money, having to take care of four children. So, three years ago I heard of this, and my truck at the time ('85 blazer) was getting a little worn out. I took over payments with the understanding that the truck was to be transfered into my name..... well, that never happened. Three years, and 35K later, here I am.

That really sux dude.
Hope there are a few payments left when you give it back!!! Well, I figure I would do something to get back at them, but leave it alone. You got screwed, by family. Can't pick them.... But you can pick your friends!

True, there's about a year and a half left on it (i think). I just hope that thing breaks down so often it's not even funny.

Take that poop to Judge Judy man, That is rediculous. In Mn. you can't even put insurance on a vehicle without it being in your name. Or buy tabs, or any of that stuff. Sucks your family's being retarded about it, but id take it to court. If there gonna be jerks, do it right back. They wont transfer you the title?

I would do something screwed up guys. Fix what I had and pull the car up in their driveway.... Drop the oilplug and start it. Knock on the front door, tell them it's running but it doesn't sound good. Not sure what happened...... :hammer:

It will work out!
Concentrate on fixing your car. I wish ya the best of luck.
