I Did It Now...

Well the fixed-wing carnage continues... about 3 minutes into the maiden flight, I turned into the wind on final for a touch-and-go without flaps and a gust caught it and took it up and naturally I corrected and, well, it landed on its nose from about 20 feet up. Ouch.

Here are some pics:

It looks tape and CA glue time.

And to top it all off, the mQX batteries were dead. It sucks to be me today.

Just a new wing and cowl. I do have parts to repair/upgrade the UMX T-28D on the way. Gonna upgrade it to brushless and be able to run it on 1s!

A little tape little glue and it will be in the air in no time! How was is for the few minutes it was in the air?

Must be nice to have Sun

Glad to see you out there, challenging the elements. sad to hear the result.

Ah, well actually it was pretty fair here today as well, when the clouds were away, and the wind died down too.

I haven't had the courage to attemp flying over the snow yet.
So it's still indoors for me.

Eh, good luck with your repairs and next many flights, with only safe landings.
Keep those batteries ready... Smile

I was up for about 4 mins. I was getting ready to land and check the battery's charge. I hate to think what would have happened if I was using full flaps to land.

Well, after further inspection, the only things that really survived were the electronics (minus the starboard aileron servo) and a few of the plastic pieces. The fuselage, wings and stab were trash. It's going to be cheaper and better in the long run to replace the whole thing.

There is good news, however. I decided to transplant the ESC/RX and motor in the T-28D. It should be interesting to say the least when it's finished.
