I have being trying for a very long period of time to get my Hyper 7 pcr to run properly. I am very good with RC Cars, but i just can not set my gear mesh. Everything i do is not working. Please help. Here is the problem.

1. When i set the engine in it just does not line up. I assume this becasue When i push the car by hand, It only rolls for about 3 feet. Is there some kind of defect about this. Does and pcr and pbs for this same problem? Please advise.

2. Also is there any kind of modifications i need to make? This extra load with out meshing completely, is making my car shut off everytime. It will only stay running if i put it on a stand, but as soon as i put it on the ground it shuts off.

it sounds more like a bearing problem then anything else. Check your clutchbell bearings. LMK

I had a problem like this with my PBS. It came with the hyper 21 8 port; when I set the gear mesh, the case of the engine would hit the rear drive shaft (the one going from the center diff to the rear diff). So, the engine could never line up and when I forced it, the gear mesh would be good for a little while and then it would screw up later. I ended up grinding away part of the case (just the very edge) so that it could clear the drive shaft. That worked for me. Too bad that hyper 21 8 port only lasted 4 gallons; the main bearing is gone. I wonder if the main bearing went because I had used the engine when it wasn't lined up with the gear.

My experience; good luck, I like the hypers.

Alot of times the engine is in slighty crooked. This could be creating the problem. Not too sure why the drive shaft would be hitting. Some of the courses I run on I had to put a 12 tooth clutch bell and it is close but still does not hit. Oh yea that is another thing to check for is are you shimming your clutch bell properly? That was another problem. I do not have a part number but I do know they have a shimm kit for that.

Thank you guys for all your help. My problem has been solved.

Apperantly, the little small washer that goes between the cap head screws and clutch bell was un needed. So i removed the washer, and screwed the "screw" directly onto the clutchbell and boom i have a friction less clutchbell and now my car rolls free with a minimum hand push for seven to ten feet.

Thank you guys.
