wow, that looks pretty sweet. never heard of it.

I don't know how I missed this thread. I've never heard of HSP, are they a good company or a knockoff company

I don't know, but I saw one of these running as a demo at the comp I was at and they are preeetty impressive. They look nicely built, although the bottom links are a bit janky, and they are well capable. We over on the UK scene are quite excited to see a Super-class kit on the market, the supers scene in the UK is on it's death bed, we only had 10 entries (vs. about 50-odd 2.2s) in the 2008 Nationals. This sort of thing is just what we needs to kick it back into life. If they crop up in the UK at a decent price then I might consider one.

HSP is a funny company. Their cars are readily available on ebay, as are ALL parts and accessories,
They have a reputation of being cheap however the buggies and M/T's are fairly well put together.
Thats not to say they are in the league of AE, Mugen, Losi etc, (hpi oops) but they ARE worth the cheaper price tag.
If I see one of these again I will try and pick it up, just to see how their crawlers work.

I would be interested in looking at one. When I was looking the pics over on ebay it appeared to be closer along the lines of a Chinese rig than anything else, a lot like some of the knockoffs just looking at the different parts and things like that. I will say that the XTM kit is only $400, and its of much better build quality from what I can tell.

I had an XTM kit in my hand charlie and one HUGE problem was the rear links needed about another inch in them to roll the back diff housing.
I was playing with it, (just pushing it around on the hobby shop bench and I let it go over the side and couldn't pull it back.
The diff housing hangs up in a major way, and would be really bad in a real crawling situation.
Nothing that can't be fixed but a glaring design error none the less.

I hate to hear that. Actually, now that you mention it, I was talking on the phone to a friend that has one (lol, helping him set up electronics, imagine that), and he was telling me that was the first thing he did as well, was clock the axles.

I'm going to go look it over now. I'm thinking about ordering one to start designing parts for it, but I'm really wanting to talk with someone whos had it out crawling.

When doing some searches it looks like Exceed RC and HSP are of the same company. Anyone know if this is the case?
