Hey guys,

You'd probally had this question asked a TRILLION times and probally sick of hearing it..

I tried to start my HPI Truggy today after putting a new reciever in it and it wouldn't suck the fuel, i put the tank underwater and blew in the tubes both ways and there was no leaks there, i sucked the fuel up through the lines no problem there...I cover the exhaust up to prime the engine and it would suck the fuel up half way and no further...I put a new line for the fuel same deal..

So I'm stumped here...I had this problem before but that issue was the fuel tank. This is way different to that obviously.

So if anyone can give me some advice that would be grand!

A good place to start after all you've done is to replace the fuel lines.

Its basically brand new, had it for nearly 3 months and would lucky to have 8liters of fuel go through it. The glow plug is snugged down, everything looks to be fine..I had it running 2weeks ago but couldnt run it anymore because the radio gear crapped it self so it went flying into the water meter outside...But that radio problem is fixed..But i will replace all the fuel lines first and see what i can achieve there.

I was thinking of taking it to the aircraft club today for them to look at it, i know its not a plane but the engine is the same princible as theirs.

Ill keep you all posted :)...Learning hurdle for me haha.

If the fuel went half way through the line while priming it, it sounds like it ran into compression due to a completely clogged needle valve. You need to remove it and clean it thoroughly, then reset it.

Hey guys, I soaked the engine in metho with the needles out and cleaned the inside throughly. Its sucking fuel now and the metho is basically black...Now I'm going to see if i can get it started, it started yesterday but stalled when idoled...But thats an easy issue to fix now that i cleaned the whole thing inside and out. Thank you for the help

PS: I think the fuel filter needed tightening up too ;)
