Dam that thing is purty! Lets see the body on it and some run time!
This car will forever stay on the shelf. But I have these two as runners

Also I took the time to buff and polish the tuned pipe to a chrome finish

I’ve always wanted to build one of these, so a while ago I ordered this new Stage D kit with plans to convert my RTR drift into a Stage D car. So I began collecting parts slowly to make the ultimate nitro drift missile!

For anyone who wasn’t aware, the RTR nitro drift chassis is different than the Stage D chassis. Servo mounts are different, material is different (6061 vs 7075), one is made in Taiwan and the other in Japan, they cannot be interchanged.

Very very clean build!! Hands down the best I’ve seen. I was reading how you

First thing I did was rip out the single speed gearbox from the RTR, swapped out the spur from a 47T to a 44T, and mounted it to the Stage D chassis with a Hot Bodies center gearbox mount. I also installed a Yeah Racing steering assembly but this will not be in the finished car.

Next I tore open a rear diff from an RS4-3, installed the diff cup from the Nitro Drift, an HPI diff locker kit, and put the assembly back into a brand new plastic housing

Installed the rear diff assembly and driveshaft, and while at it I fitted the brake kit from the Hot Bodies edition RS4. Purple brake cam lever is also from there.

Steering servo mounts and carbon upper deck installed temporarily

Rear shock tower is the original Hot Bodies design, impossible to find nowadays

And so this is as far as I’m going to get today. Progress will continue as I acquire more pieces. Minor details will all be ironed out by the time it’s complete

Would you sell that other chasis plate?

Hi, unfortunately I haven't been on the forum for a while...I see now this nitro rc masterpiece of yours. really great! :thumbs-up: ;)

Scored an OS 21VG with the rare Overdose kit for the Rs4 drift. It’s got big block specific motor mounts and looks awesome when installed. I’m gonna save this one for a future build

That's one sick lil motor my friend.

Wow I just realized I didn’t update this thread. Oops 🤦‍♂️

I did some work to the car behind the scenes, mainly trying to clean it up. I removed the anodizing from the exhaust and put a stock heat sink back on as well as using a proper OS air filter adapter

I then began swapping as many chrome screws as possible and replacing them with black. The body mounts will be deleted as well to be used… on another build 🤔

Well

I scored this crazy rare HPI carbon upper deck for the nitro drift RTR version. And threw some servos and a fuel tank in it

Then I went and grabbed my Overdose drift pipe and OS 21VG big block. Wait, what’s that? TWO overdose pipes? 😂

And welp

The RTR model is gonna get a full rebuild because I want to do that one in all black and with different wheels

Scored a brand new hi-power tuned pipe so it’s time to replace used/worn one on the car

Such a nice kit, has everything needed including zip ties. The silicone tubes are excellent quality and I noticed this pipe has a seam across the middle unlike the old one

Any chance ones gonna hit the market? 🙃🤣

I think I'm gonna focus on the savage cuz ain't no one here can compete with your RS4 game. How does she run with the long pipe? Looks amazing.

Are you referring to the pipe? If so, yes I’m selling my spare one

That looks so good! do you mind sharing where you got those rims?
They’re just HPI LP35 wheels and tires. You can find them on eBay just put “LP35” in the search field, they have different styles too.

Took a chance and ordered a ZAC Project cooling head in hopes that it’ll fit and it does! So bye bye to the cast grey G3.0 head

I also got this brand new factory painted Soarer body, I’m considering putting body posts back on this car just for this body. I think it looks good
3B7AEEEC-0ADF-442F-A11E-1EAEA46BE1C8.jpeg

I’ll need to get RTR drift plastic suspension arms though because these wheels are too wide and poke past the body with the aluminum 200mm RS4 arms

I guess it’s time to update this thread. I converted to 190mm factory plastic arms and added new body mounts. I’m waiting on new CVD shafts to come in before I can put the wheels back on.

I picked up these super special HRC Nerd Dampers in the mean time. Check this out, they mount upside down and have on-the-fly damping adjustment just like a real coilover.

These are also upgraded with some RC926 parts and HRC adjustable caps. Maybe the fanciest dampers ever put on a stage-d?

I’ve got a servo coming in so this car is very close to completion.
