I was thinkn about getn one of these hpi nitro MT's. How do they compare to 1/8 scale buggies?

--NooP

The Hpi NMT is easier to flip. I also think that I have seen more ST's reach higher speeds. I really don't care for that much speed since I bash only.

do not let those two reasons listed above influence you...an hpi MT2 is blown away in every aspect compared to an RTR 1/8 scale buggy of roughly the same price, on top of that i dont think the mt2 goes as fast as most buggys anyway. and even if the mt2 was faster...buggys handle and fly and jsut overall kick a$$ on a totaly diffrent level than the mt2 ever could.

Hey Alkyula he didn't ask which was better. I stated that ST's are easier to flip and attain higher speeds. Now I may not have stated you would need a decent motor and right gearing. My PCR Pro quite fast I don't think the 2 speed is going to be bought anytime soon. I dig the way buggies handle and accelerate. There are always going to be pros and cons. And for your Info your last statement pretty much sums up what I am saying. They are totally on a different level. I love them both but each has its own type of fun. I am not trying to start an arguement but you made it seem that my post was completely off topic.

sorry about that man..its jsut that when people ask about 1/8 buggies and have no experience with them I'm really gung ho about hyping them up on the 1/8's....simply becuase i think anyone that is into nitros should have an 1/8 buggy in there fleet. if i made it sound in any way like i was trying to put down your post i in no way meant to. so lets smash it..and go grab a beer...cool?

Well I say the NMT is a fun little truck but a little bit too brittle for my tastes but than again it is built on a stadium platform so what'cha want. Buggy's are really tough and will out handle and out perform a NMT any day of the week.

newnitrofan basically said it. i ahve a nitro rustler, a good, not great st by all definitions (imo). i SO wish i had gotten a 1/8 buggy instead now. when i was buying it there was an x-terminator for the same exact price in the shop. sure it wasn't the best buggy, but it probably would've been a lot more fun than my rustler.

whoops, sry for getting a little of track there. anyways, i highly recomend you get the buggy instead of the nitro mt:thumbup:

Yup I say buggy as well dude, My Nitro Mt is tough now that I put a crap load of money into it. Of course the NMT2 is tougher than the original and comes with a better engine so ya never know it just might work out. If you are looking for over all toughness than I say to with the buggy.

Also look where you're going to run.. I was looking into a buggy.. looked around at where i was going to be running.. started looking at the savage.. rented one for about 3 days.. was never able to keep it from flipping with the setup it had from the LHS. Tested the hpi MT2 and loved it.. just tall enough to clear the debris and low enough to not have to worry about it just flipping when turning.

So look where you plan to run.. that will make a big difference in your enjoyment.. yea.. a buggy is tougher.. but if you have to take a trip every time you want to run it.. that will get old.
