I picked up a duratrax street force with a HP engine on it. I cranked only for a second without the header pipe and muffler on it. Got everything I needed to put in all together and now it won't start. Checked the glow plug, it's awesome. Good fuel. It'll "pop" wanting to run, but no more. Compression seems really strong. What's a trouble shoot on it? Where would you begin hsn and lsn on it? Oh, I even checked the muffler for restrictions. :(

Set the needles back to stock. Also check your fuel lines. Ensure it's priming, but not flooding, etc.

Holy crap! I finally figured it out. Flywheel was slipping on the collet. Never had that before, but etched into my brain forever now! I knew I had the the needles set right. Totally had me mind blown!

Good job! So assume it was just your clutch nut not being tight enough, or your collet too thin, or....?

Collet failure. This really had me for a bit. Thankfully my persistence won!

Maybe I'm having a brain fart, but why would a slipping flywheel keep a engine from starting?
