How to store fuel

Just as I suspected my 3.3 took a dump on me right after purchasing a fresh gallon of fuel. It has been opened but still probably 90% full. Would it be fine for a long period of time? Unless I can find a decent priced motor the Tmaxx is going to be a shelf queen, or converted to an emaxx.

If kept tightly closed in a cool area out of direct sunlight it should be good for a couple years.

I store my fuel in my basement in a box that's out of the sunlight at all times. Under the box of fuel I have another box so that moisture does not seep into the box where the fuel is stored. My bottles also stay out of the sunlight as well.

Thanks guys. I thought a dark cool place would be the best, under my bathroom sink is about the best I have.
