How to put the engine in the buggycorrect

I have no problem taking out an engine but what about putting one back in. I think I'm, gonna put a 16 tooth clutch bell on my lightning rtr. So when i put the new clutch bell on what should i do to make sure my engine is in right? Also what should i do to make sure my engine is inline? And should i put blue lock tight on the engine mount screws? Any help is wanted and needed.

You've gotta set the gear mesh between the pinion and spur gear correctly...or you'll roast your spur gear.

For the most part, all you do is stick a piece of paper in between the spur and pinion and then tighten down the engine. But i've found that in some car, 1 piece of paper won't work right so you gotta experiment a little, try a piece of paper and see how that works out. When you have set the gear mesh, there should be very little play between the pinion and spur.

Blue locktight is good for the bolts that bolt the engine to the engine mount and also good for bolts for the engine mount and chassis. Make sure to tighten those bolts down real tight. If the engine shifts too much, your spur/pinion mesh will go out of adjustment and you'll roast the spur gear.

Instead of using a piece of paper and i just put the engine in and roll it back and forth and the make sure there is no binding? But any other way you can do it that is easier? And how exactly do you do the paper? doesn't it get stuck or something i saw this in my instuction manual but i dont under stand it

You cut a small rectangle of notebook paper or the like....You then feed it between the gears while turning the gears.

You can set the mesh by eye but if your too tight it can over heat...if your too loose you can eat teeth. Use the paper method...it has never let me down.

Once youve tightend everything down just pull the paper out....it should come out easlity.

Alright i will try the paper thing and that should work. But if anyone else has any other tips please tell me.

Instead of using paper try a dollar bill. You'll have a perfect mesh everytime.
