Pull the protective plastic and paint the outside. The flat look will make it more realistic. My father has a tool box he painted camo by using leaves. He painted a base color and then held up leaves and airbrushed the edges for the shape. Just keep overlapping but don't cover to much or you lose the effect. He used full size oak and maple leaves but scale it down and I think it would work fine.
I got no problem w/ anybodys life style...just cause I'm feeling like I live in the sticks now from NY and can't understand why you'd want to LIVE in the country...I love to visit....I used to travel all teh time when I was in the city....but to not have the convenience of wanting something in teh middle of the night and have to drive 10 miles away to get it just annoys me...I like the city yes...but I like the country too to visit.....sometimes for a few months but still a visit...and to not NEED a car was great.....never had to drive drunk or worry about it if you were on the train......walk a block to shop for food....in queens within 2 blocks of my house I had every store I needed pretty much...even clothes furniture electronics...restaurants.....convenience.......I like the yard and that's not even close to bad......it looks very nice......besides, everone knows rednecks always get the best toys....
when I first moved to NYC and lived in a car I had to keep fixing on the street I was called redneck many times......oh well at least I can fix stuff so I don't get stuk in the middle of nowhere.......anyone w/ half a brain can make money there.....
When I was in Huntington Beach I was changing the oil in my wife's Jetta and on guy walked by and said "What did you do to your car" I about pissed myslef. Not that I want to slam the city folks, but when you live in the "country" you learn to depend on what you have and not just have somebody do it for you. Thats just what I've learned from personal experience.
my roomate and i took a 1.8l from his 83 gti and wheeled it 4 blocks to our apartment took a week to rebuild it in our living room and wheeled it back and replaced it....and I swapped a rear end on my 79 bronco on the street....talk about some looks from people.....it's done there too you just have more people that are clueless about how to do things like that......they think it's astro physics or something to change your oil.......that's why it's so easy to make money there.....if you know how to do something right...you can do well....fairly easy
Back to the Camo theme for a second....I'm gonna buy a new Crowd Pleaser 2 body for my Revo soon...I was gonna paint the front end of it in faded flames over a blue body.....but now I'm thinking snow camo flames over a lime green body....I want something that sticks out and also makes you a bit sick to your stomach all at the same time...
Yes I agree....I think that's the combo I will go with...Now I just gotta decide if I'm gonna go with a Crowd Pleaser body or a stock Revo body for the paint....All the suspension and engine part "ie, head & pipe" will be blue, and I'll probably buy some white Wabash wheels and die them black....should be an interesting combo.
the side guards are there to basically keep crap off my electronics, and in the event that i get hit in the side, i have some protection for the transponder and rather pricey servo's. the wires, one is power wire that gets pluged into a socket under the radio tray (no power switch) and the second plugs into the tracks transponder, so nothing dangles when i race, its not a bashing truck, i have a savvy for that.
