Hi Guys.
Really sorry for asking such a newbie questions, but.

(a bit of pre-story)
i've had an wlToys 144010 as my first rig. was more than happy and in less then a month - bought a Hobao TT2.0.
to control it i choose Flysky GT3-C transmitter.
And everything was ok unless i found it losing signal in just about 20-30 meters from me. (las one was on a publick parking next to moroway and.....that was really close when i lost control on my vehicle)
at the meantime default wltoys transmitter works fine (in terms of signal)

Regarding this i found couple of dumb questions.

1 - is it safe to wash (water) a car as long as it's if and a battery is disconnected (no, receiver box is not waterproofed and receiver itself as well)
2 - How to mount antenna? can i just wrap it around middle brace, or other cabel, or should i use that tiny plastic tube came with receiver? can i keep antenna inside the car, or should it stick out?

Any advices/suggestions are much appretiated!

P.S. (later on will add some photos - how do i have it now)

If receiver has antenna... use it. A coaxial antenna does not need to be fully extended, but I would at least have the last bit of antenna vertical for best range if you want to keep things semi-concealed. I know some people will coil them up in a receiver box to hide the antenna in certain situations. You can always do a range test. I range test all radios, and new receivers before maiden voyage.

my flysky cuts out at the end of the street as well lol, starts to drive itself, and it likes to drive fast on the tekno lolol, i feel your pain, i just accept that 500 feet is what i get, would love to hear a fix for this as well

BTW, you have to check the "fail safe function" which is available on this transmitter (just realise it an hour ago)
just go for transmitter and receiver manual online from official website.
I have done nothing with it I'll check that out

I install an antenna tube under the body just like Rusty Us, just a few cm to keep the antenna pointing up and straight. But even with it bunched up somewhere it should work further than 20-30m...

Not likely but possible: Are there power lines or something in the area? An acquaintance lost a DJI drone flying around high voltage lines...

for me personally I'm next to a hospital in middle of a neighborhood covered in power lines lol sets on both sides of the street, i may be getting interference like you suggested, ill take it to the park and see if theres a difference for my issue

just tested out antenna tube under a body shell.
doesn't help at all.
lose signal in about 30-40m and pick it back up at about 10m...
shame.
orederd new receiver (just in case if my is faulty after washing) - will C how it goes

Oh, you should waterproof your rx. If you haven't dried it out maybe there's still water in there that's causing the problem.
I open my receivers and use some kind of spray on stuff from an electronics store, US forums and youtube often recommend conformal coating (stuff in a bottle with a brush). Just tape off the connectors and drown the PCB in something that's watertight.

regarding waterproofing.
Did any1 ever try to use a silicone sealant in this purpose? does it work if to cover a pcb with, lets say, paint brush?

It would certainly seal it up, but most silicone sealants I've used (thr kind in a tube, for your bathtub etc) are acidic, and I wouldn't want that on my Rx PCB. 🤷

I've also used nail polish on micro ESCs.

Never tried it, but it should be fine. But I would just use conformal coating instead. Less messy, and you can still get to the PCB if needed.
