ok heres the dilly-o. i converted a hyper7 pro to a truggy myself so i know what works and what doesn't. the JT kit actually works great with the hyper. it runs into fitment problems on the kyosho and mugen versions because the conversion is based off of ofna parts. a few issues i did have with the kit were easily solved. they were, the wrong diff risers were included with the kit, and some of the screws for attaching the body mounts to the shocktowers were too short, the shock towers were so thick that some hinge pins are too short. the diff risers were handled with a $6 trip to Lowes Hardware to buy some plastic and steel spacers (the plastic ones fit inside the steel ones to center them on the bolts). and the screws were solved with longer ones that i had laying around, and the hinge pins i just fit as best i could with an E-clip on one side and the set screw locktited in place. the Native kits are nice if you want one of the newer generation long arm truggies, but it isnt an entire kit, it includes nothing to regear the truck which is nessessary for the larger wheels. if you want the native kit, it has to be used in conjunction with another kit that regears the buggy. the ofna version of the JT kit has 1/4" thick shock towers vs. the mugen and kyosho versions which have 2mm towers for some reason. you can also use your front shocks with the kit so buying an extra set of rears is unnessessary.
another route you could go is just wait. sportwerks has a long arm truggy comming out soon thats based on the mayhem. you can just wait till parts are available for it, and order what you need to convert your mayhem to a long arm truggy. this option would be equal performance to a JT converted with native arm, hyper 7, but id imagine the conversion would cost half as much if not less in the long run. however your waiting on the release of the mayhem truck before you can do anything.
