Is there a way to make the hyper 7 pbs into a truggy? Since I have 2 buggies, I'm thinking I should turn one into a truggy.

I have a Mayhem, too, so if that's easier that would be cool too.

Anyone have suggestions or sources for parts?

Thanks

Well Ofna makes adapters to fit Tmaxx size rims and you can get a taller Diff gear for your center diff. RCNitro did a really good article on converting a Kyosho ride to a truggy. XtremeRC also showed A LOT of Truggies coming. The X1 CRT from Jammin, The new and improved GS Racing SUT ICE, Power Racing has a new Truggy based off the popular Swift, Mugen has a MSR Conversion kit for the MBX5.

If you are looking for a clean shot, then check out JT racing conversion kits and maybe holeshot engineering.

Buy a rear tower, Rear shocks and a bigger spur gear (might have to make one to fit the larger ring gears OFNA makes) and raise the center diff....you can use the OFNA Dominator wheels and the stock wheel hubs but they will sit close to the chassis and they rub a little...get the new proline set for the 23mm wheels and of course a set of those wheels and tires too.....you might need to mod the new front shocks a littel to allow for a different angle on the shock (make a pivot ball system from the XB8 stuff)
Also A center diff plate and the brakes from one of the OFNA MTs...I think they only use one brake instead of 2.....you can custom bend brake linkage wire to use both of your existing brakes too....

You also need to cut your radio tray a LOT b/c of the spur.
I just bought this...http://perfplusparts.netfirms.com/conkit.html for my older truggy,I also have 30mm extenders for Dom. wheels w/Bowties. Dont go with Holeshot,have heard NOTHING good about them. I just searched ebay, but did not see the JT kit for the Hyper,but they are on there from time to time. JT has horrible service,but you dont have much of a choice other than making one yourself.

jt kits require alot of work to make them fit/work correctly. I would look into native racing. I'm not quite sure where to but them but I can find out. They use long arms instead of extenders, its a much more stable ride.

ok heres the dilly-o. i converted a hyper7 pro to a truggy myself so i know what works and what doesn't. the JT kit actually works great with the hyper. it runs into fitment problems on the kyosho and mugen versions because the conversion is based off of ofna parts. a few issues i did have with the kit were easily solved. they were, the wrong diff risers were included with the kit, and some of the screws for attaching the body mounts to the shocktowers were too short, the shock towers were so thick that some hinge pins are too short. the diff risers were handled with a $6 trip to Lowes Hardware to buy some plastic and steel spacers (the plastic ones fit inside the steel ones to center them on the bolts). and the screws were solved with longer ones that i had laying around, and the hinge pins i just fit as best i could with an E-clip on one side and the set screw locktited in place. the Native kits are nice if you want one of the newer generation long arm truggies, but it isnt an entire kit, it includes nothing to regear the truck which is nessessary for the larger wheels. if you want the native kit, it has to be used in conjunction with another kit that regears the buggy. the ofna version of the JT kit has 1/4" thick shock towers vs. the mugen and kyosho versions which have 2mm towers for some reason. you can also use your front shocks with the kit so buying an extra set of rears is unnessessary.

another route you could go is just wait. sportwerks has a long arm truggy comming out soon thats based on the mayhem. you can just wait till parts are available for it, and order what you need to convert your mayhem to a long arm truggy. this option would be equal performance to a JT converted with native arm, hyper 7, but id imagine the conversion would cost half as much if not less in the long run. however your waiting on the release of the mayhem truck before you can do anything.

Not sure if I missed it but what's JT's website address. I think that option seems pretty good. I think I'll keep the Mayhem as a buggy and make the ofna a truggy. Thanks!

I know he has used it a little other than 2 race weekends. Only thing he has broke so far is a knuckle.

When you guys refer to a truggy, are you implying big-honking-monster-truck-tired-lose-all-the-buggy's-good-handling truggy, or more like 1/8-scaled-version-of-a-staduim-truck-size-tires-like-a-xxxnt truggy?

TR = truck
UGGY = Buggy
if you can picture takin the best of both and combining them for the perfect truggy.....

This is a truggy.

Thank you very much!I will be here all day!

Thanks for the links to a JT dealer. I'll start saving up for their kit. Looks nice.

Can't wait to truggitize the Ofna; that'll be too cool.

O.K. then, so a truggy is basically a buggy converted to stadum truck. Thats cool. I thought you were trying to make a monster truck out of a buggy, which I think would not be cool. I never understood the monster truck thing, but stadium trucks are the $h!t.

actually a truggy is a Buggy converted to a MT. They have the speed and control of a buggy and the size of a MT. I hope I get the truggy I am waiting for.
