i've posted a thread about my gurggling engine but finally it's the pipe/muffler(i'm using THS). the problem is, everytime i ran the car, after 3-4 laps it started to produce that gurggling sound.. it'll loose pick up/power on the low end(top speed is still the same) the funny thing is, when i flip the car sideways(vertically on the right side tyres) the sound dissapear.i don't know whether it's the pipe or the muffler.. my question;
1. is there any way i can test and detect the fault?
2. what is the common problem related to this?
3.what's ur opinion, can it be repair, if yes, how?
thanks.
P/S; lykan, thanks for ur advice, i've found the default setting, and the engine performs excellent!

When you tip it, does anything come out of the pipe? Like oil or excess fuel?

no, nothing came out, for ur info, it was bang a mth ago, but still in good shape, don't think that's the cause too.

maybe try taking the pipe out of the coupling and look straight down it for any clogs or build up anythig that might make gurlgle (most pipes are hollow) and also check the manifold take it of check both ends for nice clean connection also maybe wipe everything down and then look at coupling look for cracks and gurgling is most likley fuel so check everything for slime greenish bluish substace thats problely the gurgley then theres youer problem. and when you put back together make sure the manifold is out back on flush, and then check the coupling when you put pipe into it make sure theres a good few centi meters in between them they dont touch. so try that out. one time i ever seen real gurgling was at hobby town sum gus rustlers coupling was to short so his pipe keft falling off off of jumps lol and so it wasn't muffled and you could REALLY here the engine so loud and also the gurgling of the juice coming out, so I'm thinking check you're connections between you're coupling and pipe make sure is in enough ok later...................if worst comes to work rip that bad boy off! be a rebel!!.........just kidding...dont do that

Good point spanko, or try the stock pipe and/or header if you still have them. Process of elimination.

Is it possible your back plate is loose? When you turn it a certain way, it covers the leak with fuel, making it queiter?

Best bet is to clean it up, run it through some fine dust, and see where its leaking from by the oil residue left behind.

this might be a stupid question to you.. which part is the back plate? lykan , u mention about fine dust, where can i get it? how can i clean the pipe and the muffler. can u describe it in detail please..

Backplate: The part on the back of the engine, usually where the pullstart is. If the engine is a pullstart equipped engine, you'll have to take the PS off and tighten the bolts holding the back plate on, then put the PS back on. If it isn't, just make sure the backplate bolts are tight.

Fine dust: It's free, and can be found on the ground. Drive anround and it'll come to you.

Cleaning the pipe and header: Use a cloth and some soap and water, or Formula 409 or other grease cutting stuff. Cleaning the inside is a bit trickier.

pipe leaking

i finally saw where the holes are, it under the pipe. after running the engine, the next day i saw 2 oily spots under the car.the holes are not clearly visible if not because of the fuel coming out.. what should i do? should i just throw it away or can it be repair?

honestly, it sounds like the engine is running too hot and that gurggling you are hearing is the fuel boiling inside the mill.

Nothing to do with the pipe.

But hey, I could be all twisted crazy wrong.

Do you have a temp gauge?

no temp gauge, i dont think the hsv is too lean base on the spit test.some of my friends also had the same opinion but none of them know what to do, most of them are at the same level like me.. not much knowledge on this.some said my low end is too lean.is it possible? i'm new in rc, what do you think i should do now..
