How do you put a pic in your sig???

If you look at your sig, you have one there already.

Click on the profile link on the top of the page and then click on edit profile. The 7th option is labeled signature. Put the web address of the image you want to use in this place Make sure you use the image tag.

Here are directions on how to use the image tags

Please don't use HOW DO YOU in the subject line. You will get more help faster if you are more specific with the title.

when i click img it dosent start anything it dosent have a link to the thing

what racin said. Any way i got the url i think and i did the http:// thing and it still wont work

see my sig thats the pic iam trying to get what do i need to add to fix it?

From the looks of it, you're trying to post a pic that's resident on your computer. First you'll need someone to host the picture. Like Webshots or Picturetrail. Then, when you get it on one of those sights, go to your preferences. In your sig space, enter the website address of that picture with the tags on each end. That should do it..

Using your sig as an example, you'd enter "{img}[url]http://C:/My[/url] Documents/thoughtless.jpg{/img}"

But as I said, looks like you're trying to display an image directly from your hard drive and that's a no-no....

EDIT: had to replace the [ and ] with { and } above because my numb brain didn't realize that if I type it in right, it looks for an image and the Big Red X pops up...so when you type it, use [ instead of {.....

ohhh that makes sense maybe thats y its not working ill go up load it on webshots

ok i uploaded it on webshots now what?

Candyman has hit the nail on the head. First, you need to find a host for your image. Trying to post a link to your hard drive won't work so well; unless your hard drive is actually a server. Next, you need to type the "code" correctly. The "" tags go on the outside of the link. For example:
"[IMG]" [url]http://...[/url] ""

Note the quotes are not required and are only in the example to keep the html from showing a red x image.

If you need a host, e-mail me the image. I'll prep it for use in a signature block and then e-mail you the link and html to type in your signature block section of your profile.

well i got it to work i just gotta resize them:angry:

crap...I got it but when i go open a thread or another window it turns into a red X

Hmmm...Big Red X!! But when you right click on it, and copy it's URL, then paste the URL into the address window of the browser it comes up. Then when you come back the pic's in your sig.

Sooooo...can anyone tell me why? No, seriously, why do you have to go that route to get the pic to show? His URL looks right...

Here. Try this text in your signature. Call it a gift.

Leave the quotes out and add the http:// and image tags.

You can cut an paste the link I gave you. I basically added your image one of my site listings. It should work.

Just make sure you add the http:// in front of the www and put the image tags on either end. Just like you did for your geocities link.

Oh...remove the quotation marks; I used them to stop the html from making this an active link.

I just ran a test on your image as hosted by my server and it works just fine. See the testing grounds section of the forum.

The only way it won't is if I forget I did this and erase the directory containing your image.

Happy to help.-xmas-
