Share your shrink tube tricks and tips.

I used shrink tube on my T-Max CVDs to keep geese in the CVDs. Glob a bunch in there and put shrink over the entire end. Cut it back just enough that it doesn't touch the inside bearing on the wheel hub.

If you have linkage contact metal to metal such as the brake linkage on a buggy or the brake on an RC10 GT, use shrink tubing on the linkage where it touches and 1/4 inch on either side. Be careful to cut it long enough so nothing catches on the edge during its full length of travel.

The mgt cvds are notorious for loosing pins, use some heat shrink tubing on the end of the cvd and it will keep your pin in place.

I use heat shrink tubing to keep excess receiver wire coiled around the antenna tube.

quick repair of antena tube.
covering of electrical connections (lol)
holding antena tube in socket

I use a piece around the fuel tubing at the point it connects to my fuel tank on my GT. This inch and a half piece covers the tubing and the raised lip around the fuel nipple. I had a problem with dust getting in and around the base of the nipple and didn't want to chance it screwing up the seal against the tubing or worse, getting into the tank. This keeps the dust out without interfering with fuel flow.

<Disclaimer: Do this on a new empty tank. Common sense dictates that no open flames or heat sources need to be brought close to any fuel.>

Eddy I was wondering what kind of geese do you use and do you keep the feathers on them or do you pluck them first?

Sorry Eddy just couldn't resist that one......

Geese make good packing compound. I'm not sure why, must have something to do with the feathers. It works, thats my story, and I'm sticking to it.

HAHA, that cracked me up guys.

Heat shrink tube huh ?

Well, i use it to hold the black antenna tube cap in place

Simply apply a length over the top of the antenna tube so it covers the black cap and at least half inch below and above it. Shrink to size then trim the excess from above the cap itself. Hey presto, no more lost caps when you roll ya ride. The trick here though, is to use clear shrink tubing if you can get it, any colour would work just aswell, but clear just plain looks better. :smoke:

damn I LOVE IT WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHER !!!

Well, I just bought some 2day, and I plan to use it to re-do the shrink wrap on my RX pack....it got too hot one day and melted most of it off, lol.

I took my RX out of the plastic box so it would properly fit into my M18 with a larger motor. I used heat shrink to cover it and cut a slot in it so I could plug in my servo.

sometimes.....but the proof is in my hands...uh I mean in my face...er Possesion....oh whatever I'm gonna go cry a river, thanks Ed....
