How do you all mask the CP2 bars at the back

The roll bars? Well, 2 ideas.
First is masking tape. But after you do it a few times it really is a pain in the butt.
By far the easier way is to use Liquid Mask. Paint the whole inside of the body with it and give 3-4 good heavy coats. It dries like thin rubber. Then you can just use a knife to cut out the different areas you're going to paint. Much easier that way.

I just did mine 2 nights ago, I used blue painters tape and stuck my exacto handle in the groove to smmoth it onto the plastic....then cut the excess away with the blade side.....but like CM said it's a PITA...

I bought liquid mask and didn't use it for a few months...the liquid turned to clay like substance....can you fix this w/ laquer thinner or anything else?

are we talkin about the roll bars that are under the rear window?

I did it the hard way.... Pinstripe tape and masking tape. It's very time consuming the outcome is damn near perfect. I don't have a very steady hand so I use pinstripe tape a lot.

Check out my gallery, there is a ton of progress pictures of 2 stock car bodies I did including a step by step of the bars you are speaking of

how do you get rid of little leaks

so i masked up the whole body and left the bars exposed and sprayed them black unfortunately the mask let a few tiny bits of paint through in some areas my fault totally i let the masked body sit in my hot room for two days and it must of peeled away slightly :( you guys got any techniques for removing small drops of paint (its already dried )

I used regular masking tape, It turned out perfect!!

^^ that looks fantastic when you did it what did you spray first the body or the bars i struggled to mask the bars only so i changed my colour scheme and found it easier to masked the body first and sprayed the bars first in black..

has anyone hand painted these bars if yes what paint did you use i think my hands are too big i can't get in there and mask these damn bars up :opps:
