Hey again guys , so i found this guy that sells slot of used and new nitro stuff he hase a big red .28 for me for 140$ that I'm going to get tomoro he says its brand new !!! How do i no if thats true or not ?? There must be some kind of test to do ??? Plz advise .. Thanks ( btw I'm in canada n 140$ for a big red is really not expensive on ebay theres 175$ + delivery )

Usually a motor that's never been fired will be really hard to turn over by hand , the pinch point will feel stuck, and your sense of smell will tell you right off if fuel has gone thru it. Unless of course he's a shady character who's trying to pull stuff off, so if you are suspicious ,then use your gut feeling .

I dont no the guy so he could of easily just cleaned it properly .. But theres no clutch or flywheel on it atm there is a crank tho , will the crank feel harder to crank too ??

Remove the cooling head and inspect the top of the piston and combustion chamber. Also look for nicks/ scratches on the cooling fins and oil/ fuel residue around the exhaust port.

Yes, but turning the crank with anything but the flywheel will scratch it, unless you're really careful with padded pliers,

A new engine need run-in and it will be really hard to turn over the engine by hand while a used engine is little bit smooth .
also if your pull starter is hard its mean it is a new engine a smooth pull starter show it is a used engine .

First thing if you think this seller is that sketchy I would steer clear. You can take it to you local hobby shop and have them do a compression test on the engine. Your lhs should be able to tell you exactly what that particular engine compression should be.

Simple, pull the glow plug, pop the exhaust port cover off and spin the crank over till the piston comes into view.
With no OWB it won't matter which way you spin it over.

A new engine should have a pristine piston with no scratches/gouges or discoloration to it, and this can be seen throught the exhaust port, there may be some assembly lube but that should be it.

It'll be stiff to turn over, hard to start and be running really rich- if you want you could take the cooling head off and look at the piston and sleeve for wear.

thank you guys very much helped alot.. and the engine is brand new hard to crank took the head off n checked n its in mint condition... thank you guys
