Gone - bye bye.
I was thinking about some of the things that I've done in the past few months to get on here and get my RCNT fix. I thought it would be fun to start a thread and share with fellow members. I'll start the list, and lets see how many of us are truly RCNT addicts. I have two things that come to mind when I think of things that show how much this place is a second home, and most of the members are my famliy.
One good one was buying a Sony PSP so that I could check in on RCNT while my Mom was in surgery having her knee reaplcement. I bought a PSP from a fellow member and I didn't send the money order, so the whole time that I was waiting for it to arrive, the guy was still waiting on the payment that I forgot to mail. Needless to say, it didn't arrive on time so I had to go to gamestop and buy another brand new PSP, all in the name of checking into RCNT during Mom's surgery.
Next would be fighting Hurrican Gustov to get online. The hurricane hit hard around 4 or 5 in the afternoon. We lost power earlier in the day. So once the really bad stage 2 winds passed over, I was ready to log into RCNT and check on things. The winds were still at least 50-60 mph. I didn't have my generator because my uncle was using it for his ventilator. So I had an 800 watt AC/DC power inverter. In the hurricane, I went out to the barn and got my extension cords, hooked all my computer stuff up to one surge protector, parked the car close to my hobby room window, and ran the extension cords. The wind was blowing so hard that I had to tie the hood latch to the front end of the car because the wind was blowing so hard, if I just tried to hold it open to hook everything up, the hood would have creased and broke the windshield. Anyway, I got everything plugged up, and everything up and running, only to discover that the cable line was down somewhere so I still didn't have internet access. Keep in mind I was in a blinding rainstorm with 50 and 60 mph winds, just to get my RCNT fix. Not even the dog would go outside with me.
