Do you think you'll be folliwing it up with a 'free candy' van or 'down by the river' diorama at all? 🤣
I do like the 'themes'. HW has some cool ones, so does Matchbox.
I really like how you took the theme and ran with it!
Each change added a bit and it came out perfect. 👍

You adVANced some. 🤣

@OnwardGuinevere i was digging the flat cherry when it was wet. Van looks pretty dope too. 🫠🙃
Me too. I'm hoping I'll get that shine back with the clear coat 😊. I'm parting out another car for it's wheels and axles for the Pinto, hoping it works

My roof idea for the Poison Pinto...
Kinda diggin' it. I was initially thinking of airbrushing it, but I'm on the fence. Hand painted would be easier, but I wouldn't be able to get a fade. And still debating color.

Still working on the Pinto 🙄. Clear coated yesterday. I've discovered I don't like Revell clear coat, but that's all the LHS had. I wanted there to be more shine, but at least the decals are sealed. So back to Testors or I like Model Masters, but seems they are no longer around? Bummer.

The wheels from my donor car ended up being the wrong diameter, so a second donor car (hauler back) has been dismantled. The redline style works with the Pinto, so win! I'll give hauler back down new wheels and very likely need paint since it's already apart 😆

The windshield on the Pinto was pretty beat up (I think I forgot some before pics of it 🤦‍♀️), I polished with some car wax and used my secret clear window weapon, pledge Revive it! Works every time.

Now everything is drying over night. And reassembly/ completion will be tomorrow!

Pledge revive is what used to be future floor wax. Which is what I used to use on fixing scratched clear plastic. I keep meaning to try it on a scuffed rc body.

That's a good idea on the scuffed body, would be interesting to try. I use it for the windows on my car models to make them look more realistic ☺️

It's an old trick from model building. I have also used it to tint canopies on my rc planes. You mixsome ink in with it and it works pretty good. If you get one that drips you can clean it back off with Windex. I think it would be to hard to do an rc car windows or I would try it.

Oh I like the idea of tinting with ink! I was trying to think of a way to do that to the hot wheels window, I'll have to give that a try on a future restomod. ;)

Have you ever tried polishing the bare metal with a dremel after you stripped one? Just wondering how it would look.
I haven't done that yet, I can give it a try on another one I have. Judging by what the bare metal looks like, probably takes some effort and sanding to get it shiny. I bought a lot of about 6 cars from a guy. A couple are in really terrible shape and not worth restoring, but they have good metal bodies to try some new stuff with.
