Hey everyone.

I don't have any experience with their ESC's but I picked up a lot of new, unopened units a while ago. Pulled a motor from one combo, left the rest as kind of a nostalgic thing.

Well I decided to try and use an Eiger Pro a while ago and it didn't seem to work with the brushless motor I had it connected too.
I don't remember what was happening but it didn't work and I moved on.

So I thought I would try it in a brushed rig, it already had a battery connector so why not? Soldered up a Bec and everything else.
It flashes white and yellow, that's it.

No response to the one touch programming button.

I can't seem to find good information on how to troubleshoot it.

I tried disconnecting everything and it still flashes.

I am thinking it's DOA and maybe fit for the bin.

Thoughts?

Not sure how you connected it to a brushless motor since it's meant for brushed motors. Do you have the manual? A quick search and I found it.

Edit, nevermind I see in the manual it does both brushes and brushless. Yellow flashing means a thermal error. Is the ESC getting hot when powered?

It does nothing but flash as soon as you apply power via the switch. I've tried all sorts of combinations of holding it and plugging battery, not holding the button, etc.

I was gonna say what's with the sarcasm.

My apologies or my bad.

When I read your open comment it just sounded off to me.

It can do both, it seemed obvious.

Anyway all good
Thanks for the link
no worries man, i havent owned an ESC that can do both. wasn't aware they existed haha. just trying to help. Novak has been out of business for a while so it's possible it's bad from sitting too long. might be able to resuscitate it but not sure how. I guess make sure it's in the correct mode, brushed/brushless. see if you can run a calibration.

Have you double checked the wiring between receiver and esc (+/-, Signal) some of the older protocols were different than what is common today.
I tried everything. Even having it disconnected from everything.

I dropped it off at my LHS's to bench test it for me. If they can't get it to work then it goes in the bin.

I installed a HW 1080 in the rig I was planning on using the Eiger Pro in.
Down side is my program box doesn't seem to work nor can I update it; It just says connecting to ESC

The eager released after as eager pro which wa hybrid brushed and brushless but I don't know which one he's talking about

The caps only fail if electrolytic. (20yr) The ceramic ones last 50 years. Moisture corrosion from an acidic environment takes about 15 years. Zinc and tin rot take about 40 years. And a source of electro magnetism accelerates that.
