Hobbywing 4268SD or 4278SD for my Mp9e Evo V2?

I keep trashing the magnets on Hobbywing's 2250kv motor. I've trashed 4 of them so far. Not a recommended motor for off-road.

I don't have any pictures of them on my laptop. They all died the same way my 1515 did, so here's a picture of my 1515 instead.

How many cells you been running them on? I know HW and Castle claim 6s compatible but IMO, 6s and over say 2000kv is too many rpms. I believe both the new(er) HW SD sensored motors are aimed at 4s operation in lightweight race rigs. I could be wrong, but based off your experiences I'd still stand by my theory. Unfortunately that means HW Max8 combos really aren't good for 6s in a heavy rig. Just my opinion of course.

If you absolutely have to have sensored, or are like myself, and cannot stand the color red-you may very well be alright with the 4268 combo, and just get a GOOD 40mm fan, and mount for that motor, and stick to running no larger than a 13-14t pinion.
Going to go with the 4268SD combo and get a good fan (already have a yeah racing 40mm fan but will find a nice upgrade). Running a 14t with the stock 2300kv motor right now so will gear it down to a 13t to get approximately the same speed.
Also would you recommend running a single 40mm or 2 30mm fans?
(I live in Sweden and temps rarely get above 30-32°C/86-90°F on a hot summer day)

I'd run without first, see how much heat it's making, then add if necessary. I prefer not to rely on fans when possible, they're just too fragile. I can't count how many times a fan has been broken or quit while running a rig and I had no idea it stopped working until afterwards, usually when the battery pack is dead. So relying on fans to prevent overheating isn't really the best option. Running a setup that doesn't need a fan is, IMO.

Smart man on the pinion. 40mm fan for sure.

Going to try it with the fan but also make some vent holes on the body. Because now it is basically just recycled hot air inside the body and almost no airflow.
Vent hole placement in the picture. Going to put some in the rear behind the cab as well and then reinforcing the body around the holes

Have not broken the fan yet. But don't think temps will be an issue with some vent holes. The hobbywing system has temp sensors on both the esc and motor so even if it gets too hot it will shut down.

Sure do like a 4268 2250 kv in my buggies. 3s power great to play and keep speeds in check, on 4S kinda nuts !!
No doubt things can get nuts. All depends on motor, gearing, and one's driving style how crazy you want to get. I currently have a 4274 1700kv "truggy" motor in my 1/8 buggy. I could never get full use/throttle of any "6S" buggy. Speed runs... yeah 6S LiPo packs could be useful to me. I like to put the suspension to work on my off-road RCs.
