FastEddy, sweetdiesel and myself spent today promoting the hobby and RCNT at a local hobby show here in Cali. It was fun time and we got to meet and talk to many folks.

Here are some pics.

My son enjoying himself at a little track with a mini mauler.

There was also a local robotics club there with mini battle bots. Those little things are set-up to inflict some serious damage and one even had a flame thrower. Cool stuff.

what kind of truck is the one thats on the cup and looks like it has true flames?

How was the turn out? How did the table do, think anyone considering picking up the hobby?

The show was mostly filled with vendors selling plastic model kits. I have never seen so many in one place in my life. Clearly the focus of the show centered around the local model building clubs.

Hobbytown had a little track set-up in a separate room for the Maulers. The robotics club and local rc club were set-up in their as well. The flying guys had their own separate room displaying their rigs.

The main room had the model vendors, train track set-up, model building contest entries and us.

Regardless, there was decent traffic at the table and we answered lots of questions. There were a few that seemed really interested in how to get started in the hobby.

I actually liked being in the main room since that was where most of the people were. It was a great experience and I had a good time. I would do it again.

letting people hear the little nitro engine fire-up gets guys excited i just got one of my friends hooked...now he's deep

Here are a few more photos.
There were around 1000 people for the day. There would have been more if the parking lot wasn't full all day. It was like Rob said focused more on modeling then anything else. There were also RC Plains from the local flying club, trains, robotics, ship building, and modeling clubs spread out the building. The audience was a mixed crowd from children to Old folks men and women.

Robs Crawler was the highlight of our booth. Seems as if no one could walk by without having to look at it. Doms Truggy was a close second. I'm sure we lit a fire in many people to drag out their ols RCs and sparked an interest in others to look at the hobby closer. A lot of folks took our flyer and said they would look at the forum.

now thats some good exposure.....i see ol boy getting a pic of the crawler must have been fun good job guys....

That's actually sweetdiesel taking pics of the rigs.

I did see at least 4 patrons of the show taking pics of the crawler though.

I lost count on how many times I answered questions on it.

Hey That looks like fun.....is there an organized effort to get folks out across the country to promote the forum???

If so what sort of support does the site send out??? Banner??? Info pieces??

If not why not...its simple and we can voulunteer and in our own respective areas we can grow it from the grassroots....What do you think?

There is a show here everyyear...not sure if it covers all types of nitro gear ...but I know they do planes and trucks...and perhaps boaots.

Anyway .... a great time was had it looks like from here.

We have a banner that can be sent as well a flyers that can be either printed on your end or sent.

Its truly for the love of the hobby and I'm all for that. We met some interesting people and had a lot of little ones take an interest.

If there is something in your town that you would like to attend, just let us know and we will do what we can.

Looks good fella's - nice to be able to not only promote the site but more importantly the hobby as a whole!

Great job guys!

I had a good time at the show. It was fun to meet people and talk about our hobby. Hopefully some will sign on and get bitten by the RC bug.

Ncie job guys... Looks like it was a blast! I wish they had more that type of thing here in the northern half of the East coast. RC just hasn't caught on in these parts yet.

Tom

Well, I certainly will keep my eyes open for events around here locally to promote both the site and the hobby! Looks as if you guys had a good time and that banner looks awesome! Thanks for helping get the word out, fellas!
