man, i know all about "weeding" vinyl. i worked in sign shops for about seven years. thin lines are definitely the enemy! as is really small text in weird fonts, letters with serifs and such. i found the plotter used to mangle this stuff making it damn near impossible to weed.

Mayhem - I'm looking for the original 'layered' version of the graphic itself. Not the whole shirt. Did you do it in Photoshop?

I tell you. Small fonts is probably the worse than the small lines. I got a guy who wanted a sticker done and he had this small custom font he drew up and it had all kinds of extra paths that didn't need to be there. After we cut it, there was just a pile of vinyl.

I changed it but go on aim I gotta couple varations.

I dunno if this is what your looking for.

x, the machine cuts out the letters. the excess is removed, the letters left behind. so you are left with individual letters. the letters are then picked up using "premask" or transfer tape and applied wherever. i don't know if you've ever heard of lettraset, it's kinda like that. they are not stickers,as such. if you wanna see what the finished product looks like, go to your local sign shop and ask to see some "rta" (ready to apply) lettering.

Oh you guys are talking some highend shiet man I just want some plain old stickers..

Mike is right. Getting into too small of a detail is nearly impossible. Yes they are heard to peel and pluck if they are that small. Most of the time they will rip something out and it will end up missing. Its too much of an hassle to do something soo small... I have pluck decals before, and they arn't just 1 or 2 sticker, they are a big order of 400 or more, and i bet it will take more time plucking that coming up with a design. If you miss up one one thing, you pretty much have to recut another sheet if your not lucky. If your lucky, then only 1 thing out of that sticker is missing. Hopefully the customer will accept it, most of the time they wont.

The sticker we're refering to are Diecuts, pretty much like what everyone said, a big peice of Vinyl is cut, pluck all the excess, and use what you cut.

I'm still looking for a good source for printed stickers like x wants. I have to ask my printer pals.
